Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who come together to make positive, lasting change in communities at home and abroad. The Rotary Club of Isulan, considered one of the world's finest service club organizations of responsible persons, was formally organized in this capital town of Isulan on January 7, 1987, during a meeting held at the Gee B
ee's Restaurant under the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Tacurong. How It Was Organized: For the past two or three years, many attempts were made to establish a Rotary Club in Isulan but were unsuccessful in attracting a core group of professionals and businessmen from the community. The sponsoring Rotary Club of Tacurong, represented by PP Mike Jacalan, first contacted several prominent individuals, including Jun Cordero, to scout and enlist prospective members. DG Nestie Feliciano appointed Guillermo "Guimy" M. Quijano and PP Mike Jacalan as the Governor's Special Extension Aides, who then enlisted the assistance of Digol Layson. With more persistence than before, the organizers finally saw the formation of the Rotary Club of Isulan when twenty-eight (28) local professionals and businessmen agreed to constitute the first group of Rotarians in Isulan. During the organizational meeting, Tacurong Rotary Club President Perfecto "Peling" Bautista, who was also the Provincial Governor of Sultan Kudarat Province, administered the oath-taking of the new members. Guest-Rotarians from Cotabato City who graced the occasion included PPG Has Daswani, GGR/PP Bert Uy, GEA/PP Moya Yu Ekey, and PP Tony Ante. Rotarians from the sponsoring Rotary Club of Tacurong, aside from President Peling Bautista, included VP Ric Jamorabon, Sec./PP Mike Jacalan, Treasurer Romy Dumanjog, and Rotarians Tito Yunsay, Boy Buenacosa, Boy Claudio, and Johnny Laguna. The organizing group from the first meeting guided the prospective members in establishing a provisional Rotary Club, which agreed to meet every Thursday at 5:30 PM at the usual place. On January 15, 1987, during the first regular meeting of the provisional Rotary Club of Isulan, the members elected their first set of officers for Rotary Year 1987-88:
President: O.B. Malana
Vice President: Mon Aristoza

Secretary: Tony Garaygay
Treasurer: Digol Layson
Auditor: Angel Fernandez
Sgt. At Arms: Dan Rivera
Board of Directors:

Ben Zamora
On February 17, 1987, the Board of Directors of Rotary International approved the chartering of the Rotary Club of Isulan under District No. 3870, comprising the municipalities of Isulan, Esperanza, and Bagumbayan as its corporate jurisdiction. May 28, 1987, was a red-letter day for the newly organized Rotary Club of Isulan. DG Nestor "Nestie" Feliciano led the Rotarians from neighboring cities and provinces comprising District 387 in gracing the Charter Presentation and Induction Program of the new set of officers for Rotary Year 1987-88, held at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall. As of today, the Rotary Club of Isulan proudly continues its legacy of service and commitment to the community. The club has grown significantly since its inception and remains dedicated to making a positive impact through its various initiatives and projects.
