ISABELA CITY, BASILAN - As part of the National ICT Month 2026 โ€“ Digital Workforce Week, the DICT Basilan, in partnership with Kaya Natin! Youth Basilan, successfully conducted ๐‘๐„๐„๐‹ ๐’๐Š๐ˆ๐‹๐‹๐’: ๐‚๐š๐ฉ๐‚๐ฎ๐ญ ๐•๐ข๐๐ž๐จ ๐„๐๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐  ๐‚๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ on June 18, 2026, with 15 youth participants eager to enhance their digital content creation skills.

The hands-on training introduced participants to the fundamentals of CapCut, including navigating its tools and features, importing clips and media, cutting and trimming videos, adding text effects, and incorporating sound and music to create engaging content.

To put their newly acquired skills into practice, participants took on a creative challenge by producing a short reel showcasing the Digital Transformation Center of DICT Basilan. They proudly shared their finished videos on their respective Facebook accounts, demonstrating their creativity while promoting digital innovation in the province.

As DICT celebrates its 10th year of championing digital transformation, it continues to empower communities by delivering accessible and relevant digital skills training that equips Filipinos with the knowledge and competencies needed to seize opportunities in the growing digital economy.

In partnership with the DICT IX BASULTA, this training was organized in response to our youth's growing interest in content creation and digital storytelling. Through this workshop, participants gained hands-on experience in video editing using CapCut, learning techniques that can help them create engaging content, especially for social media platforms such as Reels.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES โ€” In an unprecedented, nationwide display of unity ahead of the Senate session today, Monday, more than 100 student councils, youth organizations, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials, and youth coalitions from across the country have launched a joint manifestation to demand the immediate ouster of Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano, the swift arrest of Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa, and the formal impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

The broad youth front, led by the Youth Against Kurakot Coalition condemned Cayetano for the recent operation, reported gunfire, and political maneuvers inside the Senate walls surrounding the enforcement of the arrest warrant against Senator dela Rosa, drawing a firm line against institutional protectionism and state impunity.

โ€œSi SP Cayetano ang ulo ng lahat ng kaguluhan sa Senado," said Matthew Silverio, Co-Convenor of the coalition. The Filipino youth wants him out for failing to uphold the integrity of the Senate, transforming the last bastion of democracy into a sanctuary for individuals facing serious human rights violations and crimes against humanity.

โ€œOur Senate is a co-equal branch of government, not a safe house for fugitives. We refuse to let our public institutions be weaponized as shields for the greedy while ordinary Filipinos bear the brunt of an unraveling economic and educational crisis," said Frank Araneta, Co-Convenor of the coalition.
