As youths of Basilan and BARMM, we carry both the hope and responsibility of ensuring that our voices are heard in the call for fairness and inclusive progress. Rep. Ustadz Yusop T. Alano’s push for a just share in the national infrastructure budget is not just about roads, bridges, and buildings—it is about laying the foundations for opportunities that will empower the next generation. True development means giving every community the chance to grow, and it is our duty to support initiatives that champion equality and long-term progress for all.

We, the young people, must recognize our vital role in this movement. By being informed, involved, and united, we can strengthen the call for and ensure that the dreams of our people are not left behind. Cong. Ustadz Yusop T. Alano Intensifies Monitoring of DPWH Projects to Guarantee Timely, Quality Delivery

Basilan Congressman Ust. Yusop T. Alano has intensified his on-the-ground monitoring of infrastructure projects under both the Regional and District Offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), determined to ensure every project meets its deadline and quality standards.

Earlier this July, Cong. Alano received a detailed briefing from DPWH Regional Director CAYAMOMBAO D. DIA on all ongoing and proposed projects in Basilan. The update covered key milestones, target completion dates, and pressing challenges in delivering vital public works to the province.

In pursuit of faster, more efficient implementation, Cong. Alano convened a high-level coordination meeting with officials from the DPWH Isabela District Engineer’s Office and contractors handling multiple ongoing projects. Discussions zeroed in on delays, bottlenecks, and immediate corrective actions to fast-track completion.

“Our people deserve infrastructure that is delivered on time and built to last. I will continue to work closely with DPWH and contractors to make sure that these commitments are met,” Cong. Alano stressed.

With a firm resolve, Congressman Alano reaffirmed his commitment to keep a close watch on project implementation, holding all stakeholders accountable to their promises and ensuring that every infrastructure initiative brings real benefits to the people of Basilan.

Hindi ako papayag na ang tiwala ng aking mga kababayan ay yurakan ng kapabayaan, katiwalian at kawalang-pananagutan.

Tunay ngang walang kahit na anumang distansya at malakas na alon ang makakaka hadlang sa mga kabataang may pangarap hindi lamang para sa kanyang bayan kundi para rin sa kapwa niyang Kabataan. Ang mga kabataan ng Pilas Island ay mayroong malinaw na pangarap para sa kanilang kinabukasan: isang kinabukasan na puno ng oportunidad, kaunlaran, at pag-asa. Nais nilang makita ang kanilang isla na umunlad, na may mas magandang edukasyon, mas maraming trabaho, at mas maayos na imprastraktura. Pinapangarap nila ang isang buhay na malayo sa kahirapan at puno ng pag-unlad para sa kanilang mga pamilya at komunidad. Ito ang nagsisilbing inspirasyon sa kanilang mga pagsisikap.

Dahil sa kanilang mga pangarap na ito, pinili ng mga kabataan ng Pilas Island si Vice Governor Yusop T. Alano bilang kanilang kinatawan sa Kongreso. Naniniwala sila na si Vice Governor Alano ang lider na may kakayahan at dedikasyon upang matupad ang kanilang mga pangarap. Nakita nila sa kanya ang pag-asa para sa isang mas magandang bukas, isang lider na nakikinig sa kanilang mga hinaing at handang kumilos para sa ikauunlad ng kanilang isla. Ang kanilang boto kay Vice Governor Alano ay isang malakas na pahayag ng kanilang pag-asa at tiwala sa kanyang kakayahan.
