On August 28, 2026, education stakeholders, government leaders, development partners, civil society organizations, and other key partners gathered for the Lamitan City Education Summit 2026, centered on the theme “Foundation of Success: Strengthening Literacy and Numeracy for Every Lamiteño Learner.”

The summit provided a meaningful platform for stakeholders to reflect on the current realities and challenges affecting learners and to identify concrete actions and opportunities for collaboration toward strengthening education outcomes in Lamitan City.

Nagdilaab Foundation Incorporated (NFI), represented by its Executive Director, Ms. Deddette L. Suacito, actively participated in the Panel Discussion for Development Partners and Civil Society Group, sharing the perspective and experience of NFI in supporting inclusive and quality education.

Ms. Suacito also facilitated a workshop that engaged participants in identifying key education realities, actions already taken, responsible agencies and institutions, effects, and recommendations across five important dimensions: Access, Equity, Quality, Governance, and Resiliency. The workshop encouraged participants to move beyond identifying challenges and toward recognizing existing responses, clarifying responsibilities, assessing effects, and developing practical recommendations for further action.

The workshop also highlighted concerns related to learning disruptions, emergencies, armed conflict, natural disasters, learner well-being, recovery strategies, and continuity of learning, underscoring the need for an education system that is not only accessible and equitable but also resilient in the face of challenges.

For NFI, participation in the Education Summit reflects its continuing commitment to partnership, inclusive education, peace, and community development. We believe that strengthening literacy and numeracy is a shared responsibility, and that meaningful collaboration among schools, government, civil society, development partners, families, and communities is essential in ensuring that every learner is given the opportunity to learn, succeed, and reach their full potential.
