A proud and defining moment unfolds as Basilan makes history in the legacy of the Junior Chamber International Philippines.

For the first time ever, the JCI Philippines National Board Meeting was successfully held and co-hosted right here in Basilan — a powerful testament to the unity, leadership, and capability of Basileno Jaycees.

This landmark event on April 18, 2026 was made possible through the collective effort and collaboration of the following dynamic chapters:

We are 7EVENTY-7EVEN years old on January 11!

JCI BASILAN INC. - Jointly extended on January 11, 1949 by JCI Manila and JCI Zamboanga, we are the third oldest chapter in Mindanao after Zamboanga and Davao.

▪️January 11, 1949 - Founded as the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Basilan City. One of the first 24 chapters which formed JCI Philippines in 1949
▪️December 11, 1949 - 1st Induction and Turnover of Officers at Basilan City Hall Quadrangle (now Basilan Provincial Capitol)
▪️August 26, 1965 - SEC Incorporation as a non-profit association - the Junior Chamber of Basilan City, Inc., PP Simplicio Bonifacio was the first to be inducted JCI Senator
▪️1977 - renamed Basilan Jaycees, Inc.
▪️1988 - reverted to Junior Chamber of Basilan Inc.
▪️2004 - renamed Junior Chamber International - Basilan Inc. (Philippines) following JCI Branding convention at Copenhagen World Congress 2003
