On September 19, 2026, the ๐ฅ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐น๐น๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฌ๐ผ๐๐๐ต ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ป joined fellow environmental organizations and youth advocates in a collective coastal cleanup at the Mangrove Nursery Center in Zone 6, Bula, General Santos City, helping remove waste from an area where our beloved mangroves continue to thrive.
Every piece of waste we remove matters, but the battle is far from over if we fail to address the root causes of pollution, improper waste disposal, and other practices that harm our coastal ecosystems.
With this yearโs theme, โ๐๐ญ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฏ ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ด ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐ฆ๐ด๐ช๐ญ๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ช๐ต๐ช๐ฆ๐ดโ we are reminded that resilient communities begin with people who take responsibility for the places they call home. Coastal cleanups are an important step, but lasting change requires continued education, responsible practices, meaningful environmental action, and collaboration.
Let this not be a one-day commitment. May we continue working together not only to clean our shores, but also to protect the ecosystems that sustain us and build a future where clean and healthy coasts are the norm, not the exception.
