Physics Society of Mapúa is an academic organization established and zealously maintained by the physics enthusiasts and students of Mapúa University. We continually aim to develop strong collegiate bonds between faculty and students, promote public interest and awareness towards science, and lastly, provide an avenue for students to deepen and expand their knowledge within the field through a var

iety of activities and physics-related forums. PSM strongly believes in bridging the gap from all interdisciplinary fields through the common passion for science. Brains clashed, pieces captured, and breaking down strategies. This session of learning the deeply strategic board game, Go, brought together curious minds looking for a challenging new activity while enhancing their knowledge of the game!

Keeping updated with the best tactics, studying the game, learning the history behind Go Federation of the Philippines, and wrapping up with a peer-to-peer friendly match. It was a day of learning and discovering a newfound appreciation of the tactical game!

We would like to deeply thank our special speaker, Ms. Celeste Abat, for guiding the new players with her expertise, and to Dr. Vladimir Villegas for initiating the successful seminar!

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐈𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐈𝐭?

Shining down like a warm hug of light, the Lunar Eclipse unveiled its breathtaking glow at Mapúa University, back on March 03, 2026.

It was an unforgettable sight that brought a moment of peace and softness to our hearts as we watched the lunar eclipse slowly turn into its peak. This beautiful transformation was seen with students and faculty members who were present to watch this astronomical phenomenon together with shared wonders.

The moon’s velvet glow quietly casting over the campus, shining through the clouds as one of our galaxy’s elegant masterpieces. Before you realize it, there’s a tender warmth in your heart that words can’t fully describe. Like seeing a drop of blood in plain snow, the burning tip of a cigar, the red traffic light after a long trip, or a bright rose in a field of dandelions. That red hue glowing above the infinitely vast sky stood out from the ordinary clouds and starry atmosphere, resonating with your senses in wonderful, nostalgic ways. Soon enough, you realize the night belonged to the blood moon overshadowing cities, homes, and quiet mountains—putting the mundane things you see every day to shame. You wish things could stay like this forever. But just like every beautiful thing in the cosmos, it has to say goodbye.

In an awe-struck experience such as this one, you can’t help but look up and appreciate the rare alignment gracing the night skies before it fades.

Held on the Mapúa Intramuros campus, the moon-gazing event became a radiant experience as the night sky illuminated with a grandiose, velvet light for these space explorers. The students gathered to witness the celestial display up close via telescope—taking the time to appreciate its streaming beauty.
