Recently, the 𝐑𝐞𝐈𝐍𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 welcomed representatives from 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 for a meaningful organizational visit.

Both organizations shared an overview of their programs, initiatives, and accomplishments, giving a chance to learn more about each other’s work and how they contribute to the communities they serve.

The discussion also helped identify common service areas and potential programs to pursue jointly in the future, paving the way for stronger collaboration and partnership.

The meeting marks an important step toward exploring opportunities in which the combined strengths and resources of both organizations can help create meaningful and sustainable support for children and communities.

𝐀 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐠𝐨𝐬-𝐀𝐠𝐨𝐬 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥

A new milestone in promoting environmental stewardship begins at 𝐀𝐠𝐨𝐬-𝐀𝐠𝐨𝐬 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, one of the pilot schools selected to implement the Zero Waste Project.

The initiative aims to nurture learners who are responsible, disciplined, and committed to protecting the environment. Through this project, 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬, starting with 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞-𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬.

As part of the launch, learners received 𝐫𝐞𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 that they can use every day. This simple action promotes the reduction of plastic waste while instilling environmental responsibility at an early age.

The Zero Waste Store serves not only as a learning space but also as a reminder that every small action contributes to a healthier and more sustainable community. By empowering children to make environmentally conscious choices today, we are helping shape a generation that values and protects our planet.

As we look back on the successful celebration of Eco Camp 2026 held last June 5–7, 2026,

In celebration of World Environment Day, 𝐑𝐞𝐈𝐍𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, in partnership with ChildFund Philippines and with the support of 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 (𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫), 𝟖𝟎𝟏𝐁 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝟐𝟏𝐃 𝐏𝐀, successfully conducted 𝐄𝐜𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 .

The three-day camp gathered 70 Youth from the municipalities of 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥, 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐫, providing them with an opportunity to build friendships, learn together, and strengthen their commitment to environmental protection. As part of the activity, participants observed a moment of reflection in solidarity with environmental conservation efforts and created personal pledges to protect and care for nature.

The camp featured various educational sessions on environmental stewardship, including 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and the 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 (𝐏𝐏𝐐𝐌). Participants also took part in a 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲, promoting responsible waste management and community action.

Resource speakers from CHARLIE COMPANY (Bull Warrior) 801 Steadfast Battalion, represented by 𝟏𝐋𝐓 𝐙𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐌. 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚 (𝐈𝐍𝐅) 𝐏𝐀, and the Local Government Unit’s Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), represented by Ma'am 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐲 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐨, shared valuable insights on leadership, responsibility, and active community participation, inspiring the youth to become agents of positive change.

The youth also enthusiastically participated in the 𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬, where they enjoyed a variety of fun and engaging games. The activity provided them with an opportunity to experience the joy of play, build friendships, and freely express themselves, reminding them of their rights as children and allowing them to enjoy a meaningful and memorable childhood experience.

Through Eco Camp 2026, young participants strengthened their environmental awareness and commitment to building a greener and more sustainable future for their communities.

In partnership with the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐄𝐝) 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐳𝐨𝐧 a Training of Trainers (TOT) on the Family Reunification Plan (FRP) was conducted for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Focal Persons, Principals, and School Heads from Congressional Districts 1 and 4 of the Schools Division of Quezon.

The three-day capacity-building activity 𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 with their families during emergencies and disasters. The ReINa Federation served as a resource organization during the training, facilitating sessions on Child-Centered Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CBDRRM) as an approach to Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation (DRRM-CCA), the Pamilyang Listong Pilipino Module, effective communication protocols, and implementation strategies for the Family Reunification Plan.

These sessions highlighted the importance of child protection, coordinated response mechanisms, and community participation in disaster preparedness and management. To reinforce learning and enhance practical application, participants actively engaged in group simulations and scenario-based exercises, enabling them to apply the concepts, protocols, and procedures discussed during the training.

The activity provided school leaders and DRRM focal persons with valuable opportunities to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and coordination mechanisms, ultimately contributing to the development of safer, more resilient, and child-friendly schools and communities.

Demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible waste management, the ReINA Federation, in partnership with ChildFund Philippines, officially launched the Zero Waste Store Project in 𝐀𝐠𝐨𝐬-𝐀𝐠𝐨𝐬 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 and 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥.

The initiative aims to promote environmentally responsible practices within school communities by reducing plastic waste and encouraging sustainable habits among learners, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.

As part of the project implementation, orientation sessions were conducted to introduce the objectives, expected outcomes, and significance of the Zero Waste Store Project. These sessions highlighted the importance of minimizing plastic consumption and adopting waste reduction practices within the school environment.

To further support the campaign against single-use plastics, reusable tumblers were distributed to students. The activity encourages learners to replace disposable cups and containers with reusable alternatives, helping them develop environmentally friendly habits at an early age.

The project is being implemented in close coordination with the school heads, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐀. 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬, 𝑃𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑝𝑎𝑙 𝑜𝑓 𝐴𝑔𝑜𝑠-𝐴𝑔𝑜𝑠 𝐸𝑙𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑆𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑙, and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐕. 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨, 𝑃𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑝𝑎𝑙 𝑜𝑓 𝑀𝑖𝑛𝑎ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝐸𝑙𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑆𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑙. Both school leaders expressed their support for the initiative, recognizing its potential to instill environmental awareness and responsibility among students.

To ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the project, 𝐘𝐄𝐒-𝐎 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 work closely with school canteen personnel, teachers, and other stakeholders to implement school policies and guidelines on waste management and environmental protection. This collaborative effort strengthens the schools’ commitment to fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and active citizenship, encouraging students, families, and school personnel to embrace sustainable practices that contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more environmentally conscious learning environment.

The initiative stands as a significant step toward empowering young people to become responsible caretakers of the environment while demonstrating that small, collective actions can lead to meaningful and lasting positive change.

In a powerful show of unity and environmental commitment, the 𝐑𝐞𝐈𝐍𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, in partnership with ChildFund Philippines, brought together Ecoscouts, staff, and members of the Board of Trustees (BOTS) to celebrate 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 through meaningful, action-driven activities.

Participants actively engaged in the 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞, 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. What began as a simple initiative has grown into a thriving learning hub where knowledge, cooperation, and ecological awareness take root.

The event highlighted the importance of working together to protect the environment and encouraged participants to continue supporting green initiatives.

Through collaboration, education, and action, the ReINa Federation and ChildFund Philippines are not only celebrating Earth Day—they are shaping a greener, more sustainable future.

Let us hear from Ma’am Prescious Joy Villamor of Agos Agos Elementary School, a Grade 1 teacher who continues to sustain the best practice of peer tutoring, first introduced in 2012 by the 𝗥𝗲𝗜𝗡𝗮 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗜𝗻𝗰., in partnership with ChildFund Philippines

This initiative has consistently improved pupils’ reading skills and significantly reduced the number of struggling readers over the years.

“Peer tutoring empowers students to learn from one another, making learning engaging, collaborative, and meaningful,” she shares. It also helps learners better understand lessons, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. Student tutors, in turn, strengthen their leadership, communication skills, and sense of responsibility while helping their peers succeed.

Indeed, peer tutoring fosters a supportive environment where learners grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

A sponsored child, Shaniya loves taking selfies, playing outside, and pretending to be a teacher, her dream for the future.
