This June 27, 2026, CvSU SILAYAN will march at the LOVELAB4N Pride PH Festival 2026 as the official contingent of Cavite State University.
We will march because Pride is, and has always been, a protest. But we refuse to march blindly.
As an independent and progressive LGBTQIA+ organization, CvSU SILAYAN expresses its grave concern regarding the partnerships of LoveLaban Pride PH with Aboitiz Power and the National Youth Commission (NYC).
These are not ordinary sponsors.
Aboitiz Power has been linked to projects that have drawn strong opposition from local communities, Indigenous Peoples, and environmental advocates because of their impacts on ancestral lands, forests, watersheds, and livelihoods. In Zambales, Indigenous Aeta communities and environmental defenders have raised concerns over the displacement of communities, environmental destruction, and violations of the right to Free, Prior, and Informed Consent.
At the same time, the National Youth Commission has repeatedly positioned itself against the very youth it claims to represent. Through its support for intensified monitoring mechanisms and its alignment with the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), the commission has contributed to a climate of fear that normalizes the red-tagging and surveillance of students, youth leaders, activists, and organizations exercising their democratic rights.
These issues matter to us as q***r people because q***r liberation has never been separate from the struggles of the people.
We cannot celebrate freedom while Indigenous Peoples are dispossessed of their ancestral lands. We cannot celebrate liberation while communities are displaced in the name of profit and development. We cannot wave our rainbow flags while young people are monitored, harassed, and red-tagged for organizing and standing with oppressed sectors.
And we cannot call Pride a space of liberation if corporations and government institutions implicated in environmental destruction, land grabbing, red-tagging, and attacks on democratic rights are welcomed into our q***r spaces without question.
Pride did not begin as a corporate event. Pride began as resistance.
It was born because q***r people refused to remain silent in the face of violence, discrimination, and oppression. It grew because q***r communities understood that our struggle is intertwined with the struggles of workers fighting exploitation, peasants defending their land, Indigenous Peoples protecting their ancestral domains, environmental defenders safeguarding our future, and youth asserting their democratic rights.
These are not separate battles. They are rooted in the same systems that prioritize profit, control, and repression over human dignity and collective liberation.
For this reason, CvSU SILAYAN joins the growing calls of student councils, youth organizations, and progressive sectors demanding transparency and accountability from the organizers of LoveLaban.

โ๐ฝ Immediately disclose how and why these partnerships were accepted;
โ๐ฝ Reassess and withdraw partnerships with institutions implicated in environmental destruction, land grabbing, red-tagging, and youth surveillance;
โ๐ฝ Engage in genuine dialogue with concerned organizations, communities, and Pride participants;
โ๐ฝ Ensure that Pride remains an avenue for genuine liberation, justice, and solidarity with all oppressed peoples.
Our participation in LoveLaban should never be mistaken for our silence.
We will march because the streets belong to the people. We will march because q***r liberation demands solidarity. We will march because Pride is not only a celebration of who we areโit is also a declaration of the world we want to build.
A world free from discrimination.
A world free from exploitation.
A world free from environmental destruction.
A world free from fear.
