The Cavite State University-Silayan, Gawad Laya't Diwa Non-Academic Organization of the Year 2023

CvSU SILAYAN is a non-profit organization anchored on the belief that all persons should be equal regardless of age, race, nationality, religion, s*x, social class, or s*xual orientation. It promotes racial and gender justice and campaign against all forms of racial discrimination, gender-based discrimination, and subordination. The Organization believes that every person deserves a world free fro

m all forms of discrimination. The Organization aims to defend and advance the rights of every member of the LGBTQIA+ community and other marginalized groups in the Cavite State University. It serves as the medium through which the rights and welfare of LGBT students are advanced and defended. Membership in the Organization is open to any bona fide student of the Cavite State University - Don Severino Delas Alas Campus.

𝗞𝗔𝗕𝗦𝗨𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗬𝗢𝗦, 𝗣𝗨𝗞𝗦𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗚𝗔 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗢𝗡𝗚!

Hindi lingid sa atin ang kasalukuyang kalagayan — sunod-sunod na budget cut sa edukasyon, kasama na ang ating sariling pamantasan. Sa halip na dagdagan ang suporta sa mga estudyanteng hirap nang makaraos, walang habas na binawasan ang pondo ng CvSU. Kasabay nito, patuloy ang pandarambong ng iilan sa kaban ng bayan, habang milyon-milyong Pilipino ang lalong nilulugmok sa kahirapan.

Ang sangkabaklaan, ang kabataan, ang masa — lahat tayo biktima ng sistemang mapang-api at mapagsamantala. Hindi tayo ligtas sa epekto ng korapsyon at kapabayaan. Ngunit hindi tayo mananatiling tahimik!

Kaya ngayong September 19, 2025 – 1PM, tayo’y lalabas ng mga silid-aralan! at sa darating na linggo September 21, 2025 – 9AM tutungo tayo sa Luneta!

Hindi sapat ang pagkadismaya. Panahon na para kumilos. Sa bawat hakbang, sa bawat sigaw — isinusulong natin ang panibagong umaga.

ᴄᴠꜱᴜ ꜱɪʟᴀʏᴀɴ'ꜱ ꜱᴛᴀᴛᴇᴍᴇɴᴛ ᴀɢᴀɪɴꜱᴛ ʀᴇᴘʀᴇꜱꜱɪᴠᴇ ᴅʀᴇꜱꜱ ᴄᴏᴅᴇ ɪɴ ꜱᴄʜᴏᴏʟꜱ ᴀɴᴅ ᴜɴɪᴠᴇʀꜱɪᴛɪᴇꜱ

Mariing kinokondena ng Silayan ang mga institusyong pang-edukasyon na patuloy na hindi kumikilala at hindi iginagalang ang karapatan ng ating mga kapatid na transgender. Ang pagbabawal sa kanila na magsuot ng kasuotan o uniporme na nakaayon sa kanilang gender expression ay hindi lamang malinaw na diskriminasyon, kundi isa ring tahasang pag-apak sa batayang karapatang pantao.

Nakakalungkot isipin na sa kabila ng mga panawagan para sa pagkakapantay-pantay at respeto, marami pa ring mga paaralan hanggang ngayon ang nananatiling sarado ang isipan at patuloy na nagpapatupad ng ganitong mapang-aping polisiya. Oras na upang tuluyang ibasura ang mga bulok na patakaran sa dress code na hindi na angkop sa makabagong panahon at patuloy lamang nagiging kasangkapan ng diskriminasyon at pang-aapi.

Naniniwala kami na ang mga paaralan ay hindi dapat maging lugar ng panghuhusga at pagpigil, kundi isang tahanan ng kalayaan at ligtas na espasyo para sa lahat ng mag-aaral. Ang edukasyon ay dapat magsilbing instrumento ng pagkakapantay-pantay at katarungan, hindi ng pagkakait ng karapatan at dignidad.

Sa harap ng mga ganitong sitwasyon, naninindigan ang Silayan na patuloy na ipaglalaban ang karapatan ng bawat estudyante—anuman ang kanilang kasarian, identidad, o ekspresyon—upang matiyak na ang mga institusyong pang-akademya ay tunay na magsisilbi sa lahat nang walang diskriminasyon.

Bearing placards and loud chants, the groups asserted the urgent fight for genuine rights, national independence, and social justice. They amplified the call for the immediate passage of the SOGIE-SC Equality Bill, denouncing how persistent discrimination and state neglect continue to endanger the lives and dignity of LGBTQIA+ Filipinos. They also highlighted that Pride is a Protest.

Academic freedom was likewise a rallying cry, amid escalating red-tagging and repression targeting students and educators nationwide. The delegation also raised demands far beyond the confines of campus walls. They condemned the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

Above all, the groups called for an uncompromising end to all forms of gender-based violence and discrimination, demanding state accountability and protection for marginalized sectors.

This year marked CvSU Silayan’s second consecutive participation in Love Laban, reflecting their sustained commitment to linking campus struggles with the broader fight for liberation and human rights.

Tumindig at makiisa sa malawak na hanay ng mga makabayang Kabsuhenyo sa darating na Pride March sa Love Laban 3 ngayong Hunyo 28, 2025, sa University of the Philippines Diliman!

Hindi lamang ito selebrasyon—ito ay paglaban! Sama-sama nating isigaw ang pagpasa ng SOGIE Equality Bill, at ipaglaban ang karapatan ng mga Iskolar ng Bayan sa isang malaya, ligtas, at makamasang edukasyon.

Labanan natin ang gender-based discrimination, at ang mapanupil na sistemang nagpapatahimik sa mga tinig ng LGBTQIA+ at ng sambayanan!

Makibeki, makimartsa—dahil ang Pride ay protesta! ✊️

Pride is not just about the glitter and the rainbow flags, it's about the grit of a community that has fought, and continues to fight, for love, freedom, and equality. Sa pinakahuling ulat ng Department of Health (DOH), sumirit nang mahigit 500% ang kaso ng HIV sa bansa—at ang pinakatinamaan ay ang kabataang Pilipino na may edad 15 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙜 25.. Hindi na ito simpleng datos na maaaring balewalain. Isa itong malinaw na senyales ng lumalalang krisis sa kalusugan ng mamamayan—isang krisis na pinalalala ng sistematikong kapabayaan, kakulangan sa edukasyon, at kawalan ng makataong serbisyong medikal.

𝘼𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙜𝙖 𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙖 𝙞𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙮 𝙢𝙜𝙖 𝙗𝙪𝙝𝙖𝙮—mga taong may pinanggagalingang kwento, may dignidad, may karapatang mabuhay nang malaya at ligtas. Taas-noong ipinaglalaban ng CvSU Silayan ang paniniwalang 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙄𝙑 𝙖𝙮 𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞 𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙮𝙖 𝙣𝙜 𝙠𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣. Ito ay isang kondisyong medikal na maaaring maagapan at magamot—kung may sapat na kaalaman, suporta, at may maayos at makataong serbisyong medikal.

Ngunit paano ito magagawa kung patuloy na nangingibabaw ang stigma, maling paniniwala, at diskriminasyon? Paano ito magagamot kung walang sapat na pondo para sa libre at abot-kayang serbisyong medikal? Hindi dapat pinipili ang sinuman batay sa kasarian, sekswal na oryentasyon, o komunidad. Ang HIV ay isyung panlipunan—hindi dapat ginagawang kasalanan ang pagkakasakit!

𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙝𝙤𝙣 𝙣𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙠𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙝𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙠𝙖𝙣. 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙝𝙤𝙣 𝙣𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙠𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙣.
