This week, the Makakalikasan Assembly invites everyone to reclaim the true spirit of Christmas. Beyond consumption and excess, we center the season on compassion, simplicity, and ecological giving. A Green Christmas is about sharing what sustains life: time, care, community, and hope for both people and planet.
Here’s how we journey through the week together:
🕯️ DEC 14 – Start of Simbang Gabi Season and Day of Environmental Reflection | “A Simpler Christmas, A Quieter Earth”
We open the season by choosing meaning over excess. Eco-friendly gifts, reusable wrapping, and acts of kindness remind us that the best gifts leave no waste, only love.
🌏 DEC 15 – Day of Environmental Reflection | “A Quiet Earth”
As Simbang Gabi begins, let this Christmas be a pause toward simplicity, where mindful giving, quiet reflection, and care for the Earth remind us that faith and ecological responsibility are inseparable, and that hope grows when we live gently.
🌱 DEC 16 – Green Giving Week Starts | “Gift of Life: The Trees We Plant”
Instead of more stuff, we plant life. Each tree is a long-term gift to future generations. Join the challenge and grow blessings that last.
🤝 DEC 17 – Volunteer Day | “Volunteers Make the World Grow”
We honor Green volunteers who restore ecosystems, teach communities, and build resilience. Change grows where people choose to serve.
🌍 DEC 18 – International Migrants Day | “Home Beyond Borders”
We stand with OFWs and migrant workers who carry home in their hearts. A just, green future must protect families, livelihoods, and the planet they return to.
✨ DEC 19 – Pre-Christmas Reflection | “Restoring Hope”
Hope is renewable. We share stories of environmental and community wins that remind us rebuilding is always possible.
🌾 DEC 20 – Eco Sabado @ Linggo | “Green Communes: Sharing as Resistance”
Community giving becomes an act of resistance against greed. Share food, seedlings, books, and care in your barangay.
