🚀 Announcing Vanguard VDP (Open Source!)
I am incredibly excited to officially open-source Vanguard VDP—a modern, production-ready Vulnerability Disclosure Platform built entirely on Cloudflare's edge infrastructure.

Security shouldn't come with a massive infrastructure bill. Vanguard VDP is designed for teams who want to run a powerful, end-to-end encrypted responsible disclosure or bug bounty program entirely on Cloudflare’s free tier (or for just $5/month for advanced features).

🛠️ The Tech Stack
Frontend: Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19.2, Tailwind CSS v4, Clerk v7

Backend & Infra: Cloudflare Workers, D1 (SQLite at the edge), Drizzle ORM

Security: AES-GCM-256 end-to-end encryption, SHA-256 privacy-preserving IP hashing, full audit logging, and RBAC.

🤖 A Note on the Build (Man + Machine)
I built this over the last few nights with significant help from AI coding agents (GitHub Copilot and Windsurf/Cascade). While AI drastically accelerates the boilerplate, boilerplate doesn't mean secure. It still required strict system design, security guardrails, input validation (Zod), and rigorous code reviews. AI tools make an incredible co-pilot, but human judgment is what makes a security platform production-ready.

🤝 Call for Contributors & Beta Testers!
The reality of building in the security space is that I cannot secure this alone. No single developer can. That’s why I am inviting the security researcher community to jump in, put it through its paces, and help harden the platform. Whether you are a developer, a breaker, or a UX enthusiast, there is room for you to make an impact.

How you can get involved:

🐛 Break It: It’s a VDP platform, so go ahead and hack away. Because this is fully open-source, the codebase is completely transparent — which means we're bound to discover some hidden bugs, edge cases, or security flaws early on. Find those vulnerabilities, test the limits, and report them responsibly through the platform itself or by opening an issue on GitHub.

🔧 Build It: Check out our roadmap. We are actively looking for contributors to help build out email notifications, webhook integrations, custom templates, and expand our test suite.

🧪 Deploy It: Fork the repo and deploy it to your own Cloudflare account in minutes. Let me know how the deployment experience feels.

If you are actively testing and triaging, hit me up on GitHub Issues—I’m promoting active contributors to TRIAGER and ADMIN roles on the live demo to help manage the platform.

🛑 Two Chrome extensions were caught intercepting browser traffic and stealing credentials from 170+ sites.

They pose as VPN tools, charge subscriptions, then silently proxy traffic and exfiltrate credentials in plaintext.

One has been active since 2017, the other since 2023.
