HISTORY

PUBUKAD (Pulaw, Bugtaw, Kayod sa Adlaw) is one of the pioneer artists group in University of San Agustin, Iloilo City, Philippines. The group were composed of architecture students and was founded by Adonis "Tatay" Canonicato, Armelo Fajardo, and Nonoy Lamasan in 1984, having Mr. Rolando Siendo as their adviser. Being artists, this group poked their nose into an

ything that has to do with arts. Adonis (a.k.a. Tatay) and his group played a significant role when it comes to props making, stage decoration and backdrops set-ups. Aside from these, they did t-shirt printings, exhibit drawings and paintings in some local trade shows exhibitions. During their college days, there were too many activities such as concerts and music festivals in the campus. Among their works were, backdrops and stage set-ups for "NO ROOMS" - a local campus concert produced by Architecture students as a way of protest to the administration as having no decent rooms allotted for them way back then. A very unique concert that was followed again by second concert, "NO ROOMS II". The concert was successful that eventually their effort was rewarded by the administration at that time and rooms were constructed not only for them but also for other course (e.g. College of Nursing, Engineering courses, etc.). The Mendel Hall served as the marked of the effort of these architecture students' protest for rooms. Among other works they have done, they also made stage set-up for a well known group ASIN concert at the USA Gymnasium, the backdrop for APO "Firefall" concert, "DAPIT HAPON", and T-shirt printings for the U-DAY. There were some PUBUKAD members who were also adventurous in joining some local art exhibitions in the city. As per their masterpieces, they showed well-developed techniques in oil, pastel and watercolor paintings. Other PUBUKAD members ventured their art techniques into visual arts and sculpture, making them more creative. Today, most members were currently working outside Philippines. However, let's not all forget, talent and passion of arts are the best assets in this field. MISSION

To uphold harmony, well gained project value and the importance of the role of architectural profession and service of fellow architecture students and Alma Mater. GOALS
