𝐀𝐏𝐄𝐌 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫-𝐮𝐩 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐎

Heralding its first-ever major achievement since its establishment this academic year, the Association of Physical Education Majors (APEM) was awarded First Runner-Up as Most Outstanding Organization in the College of PESCAR during the Search for the College of PESCAR Most Outstanding Student Organization on May 29.

This is all thanks to the collaborative efforts of the officers who each made significant contributions to the organization in terms of handling and managing individual events from college-based, local, and regional activities.

Moreover, the participation of our Physical Education majors contributed immensely to this achievement, as without their presence, the success of every event would not have been possible.

Laurels may have proven our excellence worthy of recognition, but the true spirit of APEM resides in its unwavering commitment to service, leadership, and fostering a community that inspires growth, unity, and excellence.

Congratulations, APEM! May we celebrate this achievement and earn more accolades in the future.

𝗖𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗘𝘀𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗮 ‘𝟮𝟲

Demonstrating the spirit of volunteerism and collective action, Jamela Caquilgan and Rogie Ken Villarin of Proyekto Volunteers Network joined fellow community volunteers at Rizal Elementary School last June 4, for Brigada Eskwela 2026

Through hands-on volunteer work, Villarin and Caquilgan exemplified APEM’s core value of civic engagement. Alongside with fellow community partners, they stepped up to champion environmental sustainability, recognizing that a healthy environment and collaborative volunteerism is vital to student development, public education and empowering local schools for future academic success.

Spearheaded by the Go Hotels Iloilo, in partnership with the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation, Juan Community, Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, and various stakeholders, the initiative foster a collaborative environment committed at creating safer, cleaner, and conducive learning spaces for young learners.

APEM UPDATES | 𝗔𝗣𝗘𝗠 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝘂 𝗢𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗺 ‘𝟮𝟲

Last May 31, 2026, the Association of Physical Education Majors (APEM), represented by JC Ron Wences Llorca, actively participated in OPLAN Tanom held at Brgy. Maquina, Dumangas, Iloilo.

The activity brought together dedicated volunteers and community members with a shared goal of promoting environmental sustainability and creating a greener future.

Through collective efforts, participants contributed to the preservation and restoration of the environment, demonstrating their commitment to responsible stewardship of natural resources.

Organized by the EON Group of Companies, the initiative serves as an environmental and social responsibility initiative aimed at giving back to the community while fostering awareness and action toward environmental conservation.

BPED 1-A, PALAVARNN! PALAVARNN! 💪🏻

BPED 1-A proudly showcased their strength, confidence, and teamwork during PATHFIT 2 PhysiqueLaban: A Showcase of Strength, Stamina, and Fitness. The event challenged participants to test their endurance, discipline, and self-confidence through different fitness activities and physique competitions.

In the Battle of the Fittest, the team composed of Kervy Gryson Lago, Aj Lumapak, Dan Fructouso Omega, KC Apaso, and Lalyn Allaga successfully secured a Top 5 placement after overcoming different stations that tested their strength, agility, endurance, and teamwork.

Meanwhile, in PhysiqueLaban, participants confidently stepped onto the stage to showcase the results of their hard work and dedication. Mark Gregory Garcia earned Top 2 and was also awarded Most Improved Physique, while Risen Joy Palma secured Top 4 in her category. Jannel Panes was also recognized for her outstanding improvement and confidence on stage.

Although they did not place in the Top 5, Dan Fructouso Omega, Cleonel Cañuto Galicto, Shanti Rohan Murallo, Jerald Jinon, Kenshie Charles Apaso, and Kervy Gryson Lago proudly reached the Top 10 in their respective male categories. Alongside them, Lalyn Allaga, Chrystl Jade Losaria, and Gehnice April Gamilong also represented BPED 1-A in the female category with confidence and pride.

More than the awards and recognitions, the event became a celebration of hard work, determination, teamwork, and self-growth. BPED 1-A truly proved that confidence and perseverance can take you far.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬, 𝗦𝗘𝗧, 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗗: 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗨𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮

The Second-year Bachelor of Physical Education students actively participated in the second training session of 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬, 𝗦𝗘𝗧, 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗗: 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 on April 22,2026 at the Fitness Center, Hometel, West Visayas State University. Conducted under 𝗛𝗘𝗗 𝟭𝟬𝟯 – 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, and through the guidance of course instructor Prof. Rocky L. Peñuela, the activity aimed to strengthen students’ knowledge of safety protocols, emergency response, and disaster preparedness through hands-on learning experiences.

During the morning session, representatives from the 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, FO1 Jason M. Berte and FO1 Ricardo S. Buhayan Jr., shared important lessons on fire awareness, fire classifications, prevention strategies, and proper handling of fire extinguishers. The afternoon session was led by SF01 Patrick Abram D. Lenaming, together with FO3 Jeff G. Cervantes, FO Arvin P. Grado, FO Kirk Mathew C. Pedregosa, FO Joana Mae S. Tomaliga, FO Ken Bryan D. Tolores, and FO Arl Alrhe C. Javellana, who trained students in patient transport techniques, rescue carries, and emergency response applications.

Students were able to strengthen both their practical skills and sense of responsibility in emergency situations. The training highlighted the importance of preparedness, cooperation, and leadership—qualities they can carry as future educators and community responders.
