📣As of 12:00 PM today, Sept. 3, the DENR-EMB has categorized the air quality index of Iloilo City as very unhealthy as a result of the haze affecting the Philippines. Constituents in the Iloilo City campus are strongly urged to wear face masks to protect themselves. As a precaution, those in the Miagao campus are also encouraged to do the same.

BMIS Training of Enumerators just wrapped—and yes, a lot happened.

From figuring things out during the sessions
to actually trying it out in the workshops,
our BMIS trainees share their queries, insights, and lived experiences.

Some perceptions are critical, some are unexpectedly witty—but all real.

Because at the end of the day,
it’s not just about learning the system,
it’s about understanding the process and be integrated with it, one step at a time.

𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 | Pilot Interview Kicks Off! 📋📍

Last week, the COP-BIDANI Barangay Management Information System (BMIS) Training of Enumerators successfully conducted the Pilot Interview Testing in Barangay Siempreviva, completing interviews with over 39 families of more than 450 households.

The pilot testing aimed to assess areas to improve in the Family Data Sheet (FDS), ensuring that the questionnaire was clear, comprehensive, and responsive before its full implementation in the barangay. It also served as an opportunity to evaluate and improve the overall data collection process.

Participants were composed of Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), UPV Psychology Student-Interns and volunteers from different barangays of San Dionisio were grouped into field teams. Each team was assigned a team leader, enumerators, a documenter, and volunteers, allowing every participant to partake in roles.

All information gathered during the pilot testing was treated with strict confidentiality and was used solely by the Office of Planning and Development and the Barangay Siempreviva officials. The collected data will support the barangay's evidence-based planning by guiding the development of future programs and interventions that respond to the actual needs of the community.

Also, a Household Geotagging Lecture was conducted. The session equipped the enumerators with basic geotagging skills, preparing them to guide and mentor others in their respective barangays.
