Ginoong Calumpang Innovative, glamorous style & sophisticated faces will vie for the title of "Ginoong Calumpang" for the first time. Calumpang, Molo.

A pageant open to all gentlemen with a True Calumpanganon handsome and qualities, 15 to 19 years old, never been subjected of any complaints and has not been accused nor convicted of any crimes or offense involving moral turpitude. The search does not only focus on the physical and qualities of the candidates but it will also showcases their wit, discriminating excellence and array of God-given ta

lents. The goal of this pageant is to boost the self-esteem, confidence and other abilities of the candidates. Ginoong Calumpang upholds the advocacy for youth & men empowerment in the barangay as an instrument for change and development. This yearly event is sponsored by the Office of the Punong Barangay in cooperation with Kilos Laya Laban sa Droga (KILL DROGA) Youth Organization of Brgy.

AUGUST 16 | Today we celebrate the Feast of San Roque / Saint Roch

No one is positive, but it appears that Saint Roch was born in Montpellier, France, the son of the governor. Nothing is known of his childhood, but it is known that he lost both parents by the age of twenty. He then went on pilgrimage to Rome and there cared for the victims of a plague that was taking its toll on Italy. He, himself, succumbed to the disease while at Piacenza, but he soon recovered. He was later reputed to have performed many healing miracles.

When he return to Montpellier, he was jailed for five years by his uncle who accused him of being a spy disguised as a pilgrim. The imprisonment appears to have been a mistake, and Saint Roch died in prison. After his death, it seems a birthmark in the form of a cross on his chest identified him as the son of the former governor. Later, when miracles were reported through his intercession, a popular cult developed.
