A wave of Iloiloโ€™s homegrown musical talent took center stage during AMPLIFY Nights: Iloiloโ€™s Emerging Music Scene Unplugged, a student-led event held recently at ONCร‰ Coffee Shop in Molo.

Spearheaded by third-year BA Communication students from the University of San Agustin (USA), the event was part of a campaign for their Social Media and Mobile Technology for Advocacy course.

The initiative aimed to support local artists by providing a platform to share their music with a broader audience.

The third-year students of the University of San Agustin โ€“ Bachelor of Arts in Communication brought their advocacy to support local talent to life through "AMPLIFY Nights: Iloilo's Emerging Music Scene Unplugged," which took place at the ONCร‰ Coffee Shop in Molo, Iloilo City, on May 9.

The event showcased emerging local artists Neo-Ilo, Ragna Ral Froy, Ghenno De Leon, Dan Pornel, Materuda, Arden Blu, Jeks Bstrd, and Dread Gang, with guest performances by Black Rose and Rock Opong, and was hosted by Jediane Quimot.

"The soul of Iloilo sings through its artists. [...] Invest in their art, and you invest in the soul of our community. Let's amplify their music and build a vibrant musical landscape together. Let their art resonate within you, and let your support resonate within their hearts," shared John Laurence Longanilla, the head of AMPLIFY: Emerging Talents, One Music at a Time.

AMPLIFY Nights: Iloilo's Emerging Music Scene Unplugged is a performance-based output of the third-year students of BA Communication in the course COM 113 - Social Media and Mobile Technology for Campaigns under the class of Professor Dr. Geff Sagala.
