[1] Define Your Impact: Learn how your specific initiatives contribute to the kaginhawaan (holistic well-being) of our constituents in Iloilo and the wider region.

[2] Get Institutionalized: We will synthesize your work into the Quad-Grid Profile, which will serve as a foundational pillar for the region’s official Non-Health Service Directory.

On January 29, Agubayani held a consultative gathering with the MindShift Initiative and Project Kaleidoscope at Book Latte cafe to expand our work and deepen our agenda regarding the mental health and wellbeing of Iloilo City.

In Iloilo City, student mental health organizations are doing crucial work. They provide essential support – from promoting well-being to offering peer support and psychological first aid – acting as the first line of intervention for students. Agubayani has proudly collaborated with these dedicated groups on various initiatives.

However, a critical gap exists: a lack of clear and unified understanding within our governance institutions (both governmental and non-governmental) regarding the immense value these student organizations bring to our educational institutions and our local mental health system as a whole.

Why is this a concern? Without this collective consensus, these student-led initiatives' vital function and potential may be undervalued, hindering their growth and impact.

Understanding the mental health system's research capacity in our City is crucial. Therefore, an assessment was deemed necessary to determine if it can effectively support the evaluation of service coverage provided by student organizations.

To address this, we collaboratively diagnosed the local mental health research capacity in line with the roles and relationships of organizational actors within educational mental health. As a result, we have built a preliminary understanding of our research capacity as one collective body.

This engagement happened last March 8, 2025, through a Zoom Meeting.

Iloilo City, let's have an honest conversation. 🤝

We in Agubayani recognize the significance of our student-led mental health orgs, but there's a lack of collective recognition about their value within educational institutions and their function in our local mental health system. We need to build trust and open understanding between them and our leaders.

The accuracy of this understanding is dependent on the Research Capacity Infrastructure of our local mental health system.

Agubayani invites you to a vital workshop where we'll openly assess our city's research capacity infrastructure. This assessment is essential for establishing a foundation of evidence-based support and ensuring the effective allocation of resources.

This workshop will employ Systems Theory, specifically systems diagnosis, to identify and articulate the relationships of actors relevant to mental health research within educational institutions.
