As the election season approaches, we would like to remind all RCY members of one of the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement: As volunteers, we must always remain non-partisan and ensure that our actions, words, and platforms do not associate the organization with any political candidate or party.
1. Campaigning in any RCY group chats is strictly prohibited.
2. Discussions related to the election are not allowed in RCY group chats or official platforms.
3. Volunteers who are running for positions may mention their RCY journey or citations as part of their credentials. However, the use of the organizationโs name, RCY deployments, activities, or images in campaign materials, speeches, publicity posts, interviews, debates, or rallies is strictly prohibited.
4. All volunteers are encouraged to refrain from engaging in election-related debates or issues. If unavoidable, participation should remain minimal and must not involve the organization.
5. Volunteers who wish to support or endorse a candidate must ensure that the Red Cross Youth name, logo, and activities are not mentioned or associated in any campaign-related content.
While we respect everyoneโs right to vote and participate as responsible citizens, we must always remember that RCY remains a neutral and non-partisan humanitarian organization. Our commitment is to serve humanity guided by the Fundamental Principles.
Let us continue to be mindful of our responsibilities as RCY members and uphold the principle of Neutrality at all times.
Together, we serve with integrity, compassion, and neutrality.
