Last April 5, 2026, a residential fire broke out in Zone 2, Brgy. Trapiche, Oton, Iloilo, leaving families devastated.

One of those greatly affected is Alfonso Moreno Jr., whose home was completely consumed by the fire—nothing was left behind. He now lives alone and is starting from zero. Alfonso works as a security guard in a subdivision in Brgy. Pali, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, and is doing his best to recover from this difficult situation.

In moments like this, even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference. We humbly ask for your support to help him get back on his feet.

We are accepting the following donations:

• Food and basic necessities
• Bedding (pillows, blankets, mats)
• Toiletries
• Any other items that may help him

This 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙍𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠, the Rotaract Iloilo Council highlights inspiring leaders through our 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 series. Today we feature 𝐈𝐏𝐏 𝐉𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐑. 𝐘𝐚𝐩 of the 𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨.

Jilyn’s leadership has been nothing short of historic. As the Irresistible President (RY 2024–2025), she led her club to become the Most Outstanding Club in Rotaract District 3850 and earned the prestigious Rotary International Club Excellence Award—the highest global honor for any club. Her visionary project, "VAWk the Talk," gained district-wide acclaim, receiving the Presidential Thrust Award for Empowering Girls. Currently, she continues to serve as the Immediate Past President, Assistant Secretary of the Rotaract Iloilo Council, and District Auditor.

A graduate of UP Visayas with a double major in Community Development and Psychology, Jilyn’s professional background perfectly mirrors her heart for service. Her approach to leadership is rooted in immersing herself in communities, listening to their stories, and building sustainable solutions. Her dedication has earned her the Rotaract Leadership Excellence Award and the DRR’s Excellence Award, proving that when you lead with empathy, you create lasting impact.

The Rotaract Club of Metro Iloilo proudly participated in the 3-day PROCON Iloilo 2026 last February 20–22, 2026, held at Grand Xing Hotel—right here in the City of Love. ❤️

Three days filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful experiences—truly fun, fulfilling, and productive! From insightful sessions to unforgettable moments, we not only grew as leaders but also had the opportunity to connect and build friendships with fellow Rotaractors from different districts. 🤝
