Celebrating Collective Kindness. A heartfelt gratitude for making the 2026 Bag to School Project possible.
The 2026 IMC Bag to School Project was successfully conducted in Panpanan II Elementary School and Insubuan Elementary School in San Remigio, Antique, from 12 to 14 June 2026. The initiative was made possible in partnership with Decathlon Iloilo, Central Philippine University Mountaineering Society (CPUMS), and University of San Agustin Mountaineering Society (USAMS).
This year, the project targeted only Panpanan II Elementary School, Barangay Panpanan II, San Remigio, Antique. However, through the generous support of donors, benefactors, and partners, the outreach was expanded to include the adjacent school Insubuan Elementary School, Barangay Insubuan, allowing more learners to benefit from the initiative.
At Panpanan II Elementary School, a total of 77 bags with complete school supplies were distributed to all learners. Each bag contained a set of writing papers, notebooks, pencil case, ballpen, pencil, crayons, eraser, sharpener, pair of scissors, ruler, modelling clay, face towel, and water bottle. Additional items such as brand-new socks and pre-loved clothes were also given to the learners and their parents.
Meanwhile, a total of 58 bags with selected school supplies were distributed to the learners of Insubuan Elementary School. These included notebooks, pencil case, ballpen, pencil, crayons, eraser, sharpener, pair of scissors, ruler, and modelling clay.
Started in 2011, the IMC Bag to School Project has reached several upland schools in the provinces of Antique, Iloilo, and Aklan. What began as a reading and reference book campaign has since evolved into a broader educational outreach providing bags, school supplies, and learning materials for teachers and schools.
The success of this year's project was made possible through the kindness and generosity of benefactors, IMC members, and friends, whose continued support helps bring encouragement and practical assistance to learners in remote communities. Deep gratitude is also extended to Decathlon Iloilo, CPUMS, and USAMS for partnering with IMC in making this initiative possible. Their support has allowed the project not only to meet its original goal, but also to extend its reach to another deserving school.
This project continues to reflect a shared commitment to supporting education and uplifting the lives of children through collective generosity and service.
The team reached these remote upland communities via a 5-hour trek from Camandag, Leon. School supplies were transported through the help of volunteer parents from Barangay Panpanan II. Barangay Insubuan is 2-3 hours trek from Panpanan II. Alternatively, Panpanan II can be accessed from San Remigio, Antique, via a habal-habal ride, which costs ₱1,000.00 for a one-way fare. Habal-habal ride from Panpanan II to Insubuan costs ₱300.00 for one way.
