The Office of Civil Defense Region VI proudly commemorates the 72nd Founding Anniversary of the Office of Civil Defense this August 18, 2026.
For more than seven decades, OCD has remained steadfast in its mission to protect lives and strengthen the nationโs capacity to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
Here in Western Visayas, this mission comes to life through close coordination with local government units, member-agencies of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, humanitarian partners, volunteers, and communities. Every training conducted, warning issued, operation coordinated, and partnership strengthened contributes to building a safer and more resilient region.
This milestone honors the civil defense workers who laid the foundation of the organization and those who continue to serve with dedication, integrity, and compassion.
As we celebrate 72 years of service, OCD Region VI renews its commitment to stand ready, serve the nation, and protect the people.
