𝗪𝗩𝗦𝗨 𝗗𝗖𝗦 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗔𝗟 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝘀 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

In a spirited welcome for Taga-West freshies, the WVSU Development Communicators’ Society (WVSU DCS) joined the WESTIVAL 2026 Organization Fest held at West Visayas State University Quezon Hall and PESCAR Wellness Court last August 10.

The DCS booth radiated energy, creativity, and maroon pride as freshies joined exciting games, received COC and WVSU-inspired merch, and got their first vibrant glimpse into the world of Development Communication, where ideas spark, stories connect, and purpose comes alive.

The event became even more meaningful with Globe Telecom as our valued partner. The WVSU DCS is truly grateful for their support and collaboration, which helped make the event memorable and meaningful.

𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗸 𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗶 𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗴-𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝘂𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗸𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴 𝗻𝗮 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻.

Noong 1999, itinatag ng United Nations General Assembly ang International Youth Day. Bukod sa pagkilala sa kahalagahan nito sa mundo, ipinagdiriwang natin ang araw na ito upang mabigyan ng pansin ang mga isyung panlipunan, pangkultura, at pandaigdigang nakaaapekto sa mga kabataan.

Walang edad na makapipigil sa sigasig ng mga kabataang nagbibigay ng inspirasyon. Sa bawat kamay na ating nahahawakan at bawat boses na ating pinalalakas, alalahanin natin ang ating layunin sa mundong ito.

WVSU DCS clinches 4th place for Best Indoor Booth at Westival 2026

The WVSU Development Communicators’ Society clinched the 4th Best Indoor Booth in the college-based organization category during Westival 2026, held on August 10, as the Quezon Hall rooms and PESCAR Court featured booths from various organizations.

Designed to bring Development Communication closer to incoming freshmen, the WVSU DCS booth showcased a mirror adorned with DevCom symbolism, along with stickers, pins, and interactive games. It also highlighted Klima kag Pamatan’on: Isturya kang Iloilo and its official magazine, DConvo.

Through these elements, the booth offered a glimpse into Development Communication—where stories, creativity, and communication work together to connect communities and amplify voices.

Westival 2026 marked the university’s first stand-alone organization festival, replacing the University Freshmen Orientation and providing student organizations with a dedicated space to present their advocacies, initiatives, and communities to the incoming batch.

The WVSU DCS is also deeply grateful to Globe Telecom for being our valued partner in Westival 2026 and for helping make the event a meaningful success.

WVSU DCS demonstrated that even a small space can leave a meaningful impression.

Meet our speaker for HUGPONG: Nagakalain-lain nga Istorya, Isa ka Panikasog para sa Klima, Mr. Jan Andrew Gelera! As a Learning and Development Officer at Negros Pride, he will share his experiences and insights on climate action, youth leadership, and community engagement.

With his background as the three-time chairperson of the WVSU Development Communicators’ Society and as an editor for Klima kag Pamatan-on: Isturya kang Iloilo, his stories will inspire fellow youth, spark conversations, and impart lessons that encourage deeper reflection and action.
