Today, we stand with the workers who keep our communities running, often unseen and unheard. From farms to factories, from streets to offices, their labor sustains our economy and our daily lives.

Recognition alone is not enough.

Filipino workers deserve living wages, safe working conditions, social protection, and institutions that truly listen and respond. Labor rights are human rights. These must be upheld not only in words but through concrete policy and meaningful action.

They do not just build the nation. They must have the power to shape it.

SKC Philippines formally signs a two-year Memorandum of Understanding with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Nueva Ecija Chapter to strengthen legal literacy, community outreach, and youth engagement in access-to-justice initiatives.

Present at the signing were our Founder and Board Chairperson Ellirie Aviles, and SKC Regional Ambassador for Central Luzon Devin Carl Padilla Sagun, MPA. Representing IBP Nueva Ecija were Chapter President Atty. Maria Carmela Wenceslao, Legal Aid Chairperson Atty. Jo Anne Padilla, and Atty. Jubail Esteban.

Through this partnership, SKC’s network and IBP’s legal expertise come together to reduce barriers that prevent young people from understanding their rights and accessing legal remedies. The collaboration also opens opportunities for joint representation in international platforms, ensuring that Filipino youth and legal voices contribute meaningfully to conversations on justice, governance, and sustainable development.

Represent SKC at the UN! 🇺🇳

💡 Did you know? The Sigaw ng Kabataan Coalition (SKC) holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC.

But what does it mean?

This status allows SKC members and affiliates to:

- Represent SKC at UN Headquarters in New York, Vienna, Geneva and at international forums in Doha (Qatar), Bangkok (Thailand), and beyond

- Submit written and oral statements on youth issues to UN bodies

- Collaborate with UN agencies on studies, research, and global policy initiatives

SKC can also provide official endorsements for members and affiliates. These endorsements act as credentials to participate in UN meetings and global forums—amplifying the voices of Filipino youth on the world stage.

As an affiliated group of the Global Civil Society Coalition for the UNCAC, Sigaw ng Kabataan Coalition (SKC) stands with civil society partners from around the world in calling for a stronger, more transparent, inclusive, and effective Implementation Review Mechanism (IRM) under the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).

With negotiations underway in Doha, this is a critical moment. Decisions made now will shape how UNCAC is reviewed and implemented for the next 10–15 years.
