Recycling, which is facilitated by trash segregation, helps to conserve natural resources by reducing the need to extract and process raw materials. For example, recycling one ton of paper saves 17 trees, 7,000 gallons of water, and 4,100 kilowatt-hours of electricity.

Trash segregation helps to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills, which are a major source of greenhouse gas emissions and pollution. By separating organic waste from inorganic waste, we can reduce the production of methane, a potent greenhouse gas.

The heat index in the Philippines has reached a high level this summer season.

Multiple areas in the country are forecasted to experience an 'init factor' of 42 degrees Celsius and above. Five areas in the country are forecast to have temperatures peaking at 42ยฐC: Bacnotan in La Union, San Jose in Occidental Mindoro, Roxas City in Capiz, Guiuan in Eastern Samar, and Cotabato City in Maguindanao. Baguio City and Benguet in La Trinidad remain to have the lowest expected heat index of 26 ยฐC.

Last December 11, 2023, our team once again visited Brgy. Sto Domingo to conduct post evaluation to the participants of Project Trash Talks: Thinking Before Junking.

We believe it is essential to assess the impact of our initiative. Upon evaluating, we are pleased to know their satisfaction. They were still able to recall ideas and discussions during the event. Some of them expressed gratitude for our initiative and wished that it will soon be conducted to other areas as well to spread awareness about waste segregation and its legal basis.

We are thrilled to share that our project "๐“๐ซ๐š๐ฌ๐ก ๐“๐š๐ฅ๐ค๐ฌ: ๐“๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ค๐ข๐ง๐  ๐›๐ž๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐‰๐ฎ๐ง๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ " was successfully implemented last ๐ƒ๐ž๐œ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ‘, ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘, and we have achieved our goal of empowering communities by raising awareness about proper waste disposal. Through our collaborative efforts and dedication with Brgy. Sto. Domingo, we have made a significant impact in promoting sustainable waste management practices. Our team was also able to donate 12 ๐™˜๐™ค๐™ข๐™ข๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™–๐™จ๐™ ๐™—๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™จ to be installed in garbage-prone areas in the barangay.
