Today’s Christmas party for our Mend a Broken Heart beneficiaries was nothing short of magical! It brought tears of joy to see these vibrant children thriving after undergoing surgical procedures for Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) a condition that once held them back. A special thank you to our amazing Rotary Anns for their tireless efforts in making this event unforgettable. The smiles on the faces of every child as they played and danced with Jollibee, and received gifts and toys, remind us of the profound impact of our mission. Today, we felt the true essence of “service above self.”
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year, filled with hope, love, and the joy of giving! May the spirit of the season guide us all to create more magical moments together in the future.

Puluy-an sang Kaalam, Ibalik sa Eskwelahan:
This mural painting project reflects the different activities of children, rooted in the power of knowledge symbolized by indigenous people holding the brain as the source of learning. Through this initiative, the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo is committed to encouraging children to value the importance of knowledge and education. Alongside the mural, we also conducted a hands-on drawing activity with the elementary pupils of Cadinglian Elementary School, guiding them in expressing creativity through art. This is one of the many schools we aim to reach, in partnership with 1 Puluy-an Art Space.

Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo's "Jetmatic Hand Water Pump Installations" is a significant initiative aimed at improving water access for communities in various parts of Iloilo. On this day, December 10, 2025, the Municipality of Alimodian has received their water project.

Our objective is to provide sustainable source of water on the barangays namely Brgy. Buhay, Brgy. Bancal, and Brgy. Baguinan of Alimodian, Iloilo. It will improve the barangays’ public health by reducing the risk and vulnerability by the community to waterborne diseases using water that comes from open dug well or “bubon”.

This project will reduce the burden of water collection with less effort, safe and time by the community, especially the women and children.

We will also thank our local partners from the local government of Alimodian, specifically the MDRRMO personnel - Sherwin Bering and the barangay captains.

From 18 entries across Southeast Asia submitted to the Rotary Showcase, we are deeply honored to be one of the three winners. This pride and feat we proudly share with our beloved District 3850, a testament to what we can achieve together through service and compassion.
This honor belongs to all who have walked with us, from our partners in Korea, to Rotary clubs across the Philippines, and to every compassionate soul who helped transform hope into healing.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Rotary Institute Genting for this extraordinary acknowledgment. And to RI Past President Gary Hwang, your visit to our young patients reaffirmed that Rotary’s love and service truly know no borders.

A SINGLE VOTE CAN HELP SAVE A CHILD'S LIFE.

Every year, many Filipino children are born with Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), a heart condition that prevents proper blood circulation. Without surgery, these children face serious complications that can lead to heart failure and, in many cases, death before the age of 30.

Through its flagship project, Mend A Broken Heart, the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo has already helped more than 300 children across Visayas and Mindanao receive free corrective heart surgeries for PDA. Each surgery restores not only a heartbeat, but also a child’s chance to live a full and healthy life.

This year, the project will be presented at the Rotary Institute in Genting, an international gathering of Rotary Clubs. This is an opportunity for the program to reach a global audience and to inspire new partnerships that can provide the funding and support needed to help more children suffering from PDA.
