On 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, UP and PSHS-WVCIC went head-to-head at the PSHS-WVCIC Oval for an afternoon of soccer and friendly competition.

The game was filled with fast plays, close attempts, and plenty of action from both sides. Players gave their all on the field while their supporters kept the energy going from the sidelines.

From the opening kick to the final whistle, it was a game worth watching. ⚽️📸

Through the collective effort and teamwork of the UPHSI SRCY, CCDP Batch 2028, and other school organizations, everyone contributed to waste removal, raised environmental awareness, and helped promote a cleaner and healthier coastal environment for all.

❤️‍🩹 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐍 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐄, 𝐁𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐃.

On 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the UPHSI Senior Red Cross Youth Council successfully conducted a 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗣𝗥 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 at the 𝗨𝗣𝗩 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, equipping students with essential lifesaving skills and strengthening our commitment to a safer campus.

Beyond the training, participants helped build a culture of preparedness—learning how to 𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, and 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 in times of emergency. They also marked their commitment on the 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥, signifying their pledge to step forward, respond, and help others when it matters most.

Through 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞, 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞, and 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, we continue to uphold the Red Cross Youth values: 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞, 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞, and 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭. 🫶🏻

Building a safer campus starts with a commitment to be prepared.

The Philippine Red Cross–Iloilo Chapter, in partnership with the University of the Philippines High School- Senior Red Cross Youth, brings the spirit of World First Aid Day to the University of the Philippines Visayas – Iloilo Campus through an engaging First Aid and CPR learning session.

Students of UP Visayas took part not only in learning essential lifesaving skills but also in making a meaningful commitment through the Commitment Wall—signing their names as a personal pledge to help promote first aid awareness, emergency preparedness, and a culture of safety within the campus community.

Every signature represents a promise to learn, be prepared, respond appropriately, and lend a helping hand when an emergency occurs.

Because a safer campus is built not only by policies and preparedness—but by people who choose to be ready.

Every life matters, and every journey deserves safety. Today, September 12, 2026, the Philippine Red Cross joins the global community in celebrating World First Aid Day, led by our Safety Services in coordination with Welfare Services.

This year’s theme, “𝘍𝘐𝘙𝘚𝘛 𝘈𝘐𝘋 𝘐𝘕 𝘔𝘐𝘎𝘙𝘈𝘛𝘐𝘖𝘕 𝘊𝘖𝘕𝘛𝘌𝘟𝘛𝘚,” shines a vital light on ensuring accessible and inclusive first aid education for people on the move, displaced individuals, and our welcoming host communities. By promoting first aid as an essential life skill, we strengthen the capacity of individuals and communities everywhere to respond effectively to emergencies and provide immediate, life-saving assistance when it matters most.

Highlighting the spirit of this year's observance, Philippine Red Cross Chairman and CEO Richard J. Gordon reminds us, "First aid is more than a technical skill; it is an act of profound humanity that transcends borders and protects the most vulnerable among us." Echoing this commitment, Secretary General Dr. Gwendolyn Pang emphasizes, "By equipping people on the move and our local communities with life-saving knowledge, we build a resilient network of compassion and readiness where no one is left behind."

In solidarity with this mission, all Philippine Red Cross Chapters are mobilized to conduct impactful activities within their respective areas of responsibility. Because compassion knows no borders, and readiness saves lives.

On 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the UPHSI Senior Red Cross Youth Council took part in the deployment for the 𝗬𝘂𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀, standing by to provide assistance and ensure the safety and well-being of everyone throughout the games.

Beyond the competition, every match is also an opportunity to 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲—remaining 𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭, 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝, and 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
