π Giving Hope, Sustaining Dreams: Project BAGETS Year 2 Empowers 200 Northern Samar Students
A school bag is more than just a container for books for 200 underprivileged students in Northern Samar, it is the beginning of hope, confidence, and big dreams.
On May 29, 2026, JCI Catarman Cocoking and JCI Metro Iloilo Dinagyang officially kicked off the 2026 Visayas Area Launch of Bags of Hope: βProject BAGETS Year 2 Bags at Gamit para sa mga Bagetsβ at Cularima Elementary School in Catarman.
Led by Visayas Area Chair Dave Esquerra Gallano and Area Vice President Atty. Vincent Von Nogra, the initiative provided students from Cularima and Cag-abaca Elementary Schools with new school bags, learning supplies, t-shirts, and a hot meal. Beyond the physical gifts, the children enjoyed a day of storytelling, face painting, parlor games, and inspiring activities like the "Dear Future Me" letter-writing and the "Pay It Forward" oath reminding them that their dreams matter and that education is their bridge to a brighter future.
The successful event was warmly supported by local leaders, including Brgy. Captain Hon. Caryl Castillo, and School Heads Gerald Yamogan and Ruben Fulgar, alongside dedicated JCI past presidents and members.
