What a game. What a fight. What a win!
Congratulations to Team WVSU for securing 1st Runner-Up in the 1st Sinulog sa Kabankalan Volleyball Cup, held at K-Center, Kabankalan City.

Out of 16 competitive teams, you rose above the rest and showed what true teamwork, grit, and passion look like. Every serve, dig, and spike reflected dedication, discipline, and heart for the game.

This achievement is more than a trophy—it is a testament to unity, perseverance, and WVSU pride.

Special thanks to the five (5) WVSU–Lambunao Volleyball players for accepting the invitation and proudly carrying the WVSU name, as they competed against 15 teams together with the WVSU–Himamaylan Volleyball players. Your commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship made this achievement even more meaningful.

What an incredible journey it has been for the delegates of West Visayas State University – Himamaylan City Campus at University Hinampang 2025, hosted by WVSU Calinog Campus! Securing 6th Place Overall among seven highly competitive campuses is a testament to the grit, dedication, and indomitable spirit of our athletes, coaches, and the entire support team. Every game, every point, and every performance contributed to this remarkable achievement.

To our amazing athletes—you shone with bravery, discipline, and pride. Your passion, resilience, and unwavering commitment truly lit up every event. Thank you for giving your very best, not just for victory, but for the honor of representing WVSU Himamaylan Campus with pride and heart.

To our dedicated coaches, facilitators, staff, officers, medics, and the entire Kasanag team—your tireless effort, guidance, and support turned preparation into performance and challenges into triumphs. Your hard work shaped this success and inspired us all to push beyond limits.

SAO Holds 3rd Organizational Meeting for Hinampang 2025

The Sports and Athletics Organization (SAO) of WVSU-HCC successfully conducted its 3rd Organizational Meeting via an online, presided over by SAO Adviser and Sports Coordinator of Himamaylan City Campus, Mr. Joel C. Camaso.

The meeting focused on the preparations for the University Hinampang 2025. Key discussions included the monitoring of athletes’ training attendance, the presentation of the official campus logo and colors, and the assignment of officer committees to ensure smooth and organized preparations for this much-anticipated sports fest.

As the countdown begins, the spirit of teamwork and determination grows stronger. With every practice and plan, we move closer to showcasing the true strength and pride of Himamaylan City Campus in the University Hinampang 2025.

Preparations for University Hinampang 2025 are officially underway! 🏆✨

A Planning Meeting was held on September 17, 2025, at the WVSU Library Discussion Room 1, headed by University Sports Director Dr. Ma. Nenitte T. Bajador and also attended by Dr. Ma. Pillar, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs. The gathering brought together Campus Sports Coordinators, the FSC Chairperson, and the FSC University Hinampang Event Organizer to lay the groundwork for the much-anticipated University Hinampang 2025. The meeting focused on event planning, player requirements, and coordination among campuses to ensure the smooth flow and success of the games.

Our Campus Sports Coordinator, Mr. Joel Camaso, represented the campus and actively joined the discussions, showing strong support and commitment to our athletes as we gear up for this exciting university-wide sports event.

From Courts to Communities: SAO Joins KULTURA PROJECT

The Sports and Athletics Organization proudly joined the KULTURA PROJECT: Reaching Coastal Area Communities through the colorful and dynamic LUSAY Festival Presentation, held on September 12, 2025 at Sitio Malusay, Brgy. Caradio-an. The initiative was spearheaded by project leaders Mr. Joel Camaso and Dr. Marlyn Rivera, with the valuable contributions of the dedicated SPE faculty: Dr. Michelle Palata (SPE Director), Mr. Christian Loberas, and Mr. Mark Jerome Montaño.

This meaningful endeavor was further enriched by the leadership of Dr. Genesis Camarista, our ever-supportive Campus Administrator, together with the entire WVSU-HCC faculty, whose steadfast commitment reflects the university’s dedication to community development.

The celebration showcased the traditions of the coastal community through cultural dances, interactive activities, and a community dance led by SPE students. It not only highlighted the richness of local culture but also deepened the bond between the university and the community it serves.

For SAO, this experience is a reminder that sports go beyond the courts and playing fields. The values we uphold in athletics such as teamwork, discipline, and passion are the same values that strengthen communities and preserve meaningful traditions.

Together, we celebrate culture, honor community, and embody the true spirit of service through sports and unity.
