โDespite the unsettling weather, the College of Technology, alongside the CNND, CCJ, and CPMT departments, participated in the Earthquake Orientation and Drill on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the USA Gymnasium.
โ
โThe activity was held to test the school's emergency response and see how ready students are for natural disasters. The day started with an interactive orientation where students actively joined in, followed by a drill where they practiced what to do during an earthquake.
โ
โStudents practiced the "Drop, Cover, and Hold" before calmly walking to the USA Football Field, which served as their safe zone. Once safety officers gave the "all-clear," confirming it was safe, everyone headed back to the gymnasium.
โ
โThis initiative does not only educate students nor simply re-acquaint them with the fundamental drill practiced since childhood; it turns those long-ingrained steps into life-saving instincts. More importantly, it engraves upon students' minds the seriousness when this kind of unexpected disaster occurs. This may be an unpreventable event, but it could be handled well through proper preparation.
