Beyond the Breed: A Commitment to Lifetime Protection 🐾🛡️

We are incredibly grateful for the successful partnership between the Iloilo City - Office of the City Veterinarian and the Iloilo Dog Club. Thank you so much for inviting Furry Friends Second Chance (FFSC) Inc. to be part of this wonderful event. It was a fantastic opportunity to join forces in spreading the vital message of Responsible Pet Ownership and Rabies Awareness throughout our community.

As fur parents, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of showing off our pets’ unique breeds and beauty. However, we must never forget that our responsibility goes far deeper than a single occasion.

True devotion means:

🩷Continuous Awareness: Understanding that our duty to our pets, whether they are purebreds or our beloved Aspins and Puspins, is a daily commitment.

🩷Safety First: Prioritizing health measures like vaccinations and rabies awareness to keep our families and neighborhoods safe.

🩷Lifetime Protection: Ensuring that every pet in our care receives the love, medical attention, and protection they deserve for their entire lives.

To the women who carry the weight of the world in their hearts and a bag of kibble in their hands, Happy Mother’s Day!

Being a mother isn’t always about biology, it’s about the love that chooses to stay, to feed, and to protect. Today, we celebrate every animal welfare advocate who has opened their heart to our local heroes, the resilient Aspins and Puspins.

🩷To the Strays’ First Call: For every midnight rescue and every early morning feeding mission in the rain.

🩷To the Healers: For the endless patience you show to the injured and the neglected, turning "unwanted" visitors into loyal sentinels.

🩷To the Advocates: For speaking up for the voiceless and treating every "fur baby" as your own, regardless of their breed or background.

A Haven for Our Furry Friends 🐾⛽

In the heart of our busy commutes, we found a place that offers more than just fuel, it offers hope. We want to give a massive shout-out to this Petron gas station, Diversion Road and its incredible staff for their kindness toward the unwanted furry friends in their area.
Instead of being shooed away, these strays are welcomed with open arms, full bowls, and a safe place to take shelter. This act of mercy is a perfect example of what the Iloilo City Stray Friendly Campaign is all about, integrating our local Aspins and Puspins into the community with dignity and care.

Why this matters to us advocates:
• Humanity in Action: The staff goes beyond their duties to ensure these animals don't go hungry.
• Safety First: Providing a shelter within the station keeps these dogs and cats off the dangerous main roads.
• Setting the Standard: They are proving to other establishments that being "stray-friendly" is simple, impactful, and deeply appreciated.
To the staff: Thank you for seeing these "voiceless" friends and choosing to be their protectors. You aren't just running a station, you’re fueling a more compassionate Iloilo!

🛑 JUSTICE FOR THE 13 LIVES LOST IN SAN MIGUEL 🛑

Furry Friends Second Chance Ph (FFSC) is beyond horrified and deeply saddened to report a barbaric act of cruelty that has left our community in mourning.

In Zone 1, Barangay San Jose, San Miguel, Iloilo, thirteen (13) innocent, owned pet dogs were cold-bloodedly murdered after being fed a deadly poison. Thirteen lives, gone in an instant due to a deliberate act of malice.

How can this still happen?
We live in an age of rapid technological progress and constant social media connectivity, yet it seems some individuals are still trapped in a "caveman mentality." There is no excuse for such primitive, heartless behavior. To intentionally lace food with poison and watch innocent animals suffer and die is not just a crime, it is a complete failure of humanity.

To the Perpetrator:
You have not only broken the law; you have shattered the hearts of families who considered these dogs their own. Animal cruelty is a serious offense under the Animal Welfare Act (RA 8485, as amended by RA 10631). We will not stay silent.

To our Community:
We urge the residents of San Miguel and the local authorities to take a stand. If you have any information regarding this incident, please come forward. This "caveman" approach to conflict or animal management has no place in a civilized society.

We extend our deepest condolences to the fur parents who are now facing an empty home. We stand with you in demanding justice.

Justice for the 13! Justice for the voiceless!
