“I used to play, go to kindergarten, and we would go to the sea,” remembers 7-year-old Miran from Gaza.

She’s receiving treatment after being injured when her home was hit amid the ongoing war

“I pulled Miran and her mother out from under the rubble,” her father says. “Her legs were injured.”

A lasting ceasefire needs to be reinstated now for children. Their survival and well-being depends on it.

Project Huna-Una to do:
✅MHPSS Training at Brgy. San Juan, Molo!

Yesterday marked a pivotal moment in Project Huna-Una's journey as we successfully delivered our Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Training to more than 70 community members at Barangay San Juan, Molo, Iloilo City! 🚀

Ms. Cyresse Achilleos and Mr. Jim Lester Triño, representatives from the Positive Youth Development Network, delivered discussions on the rights of the child and HEADSSS interviewing framework respectively, bringing diverse insights to the forefront during the morning session. 🙌

During the afternoon session, the activity resonated with hands-on learning as participants immersed themselves in a dynamic simulation activity facilitated by the Kaibigan chatline. 🤗

All of these sessions aimed at equipping participants with tools for mental health resilience. 💪

We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the parents, volunteers, barangay health workers, barangay officials, Gugma Youth, LGBT Youth and Sangguniang Kabataan who actively engaged in the training. Of course, a big thanks to our speakers and facilitators, Ms. Cyresse Ann Achilleos, Mr. Jim Lester Triño, and the Kaibigan chatline for their support. 🫶🫶🫶

Together, let's make another big stride towards a more mentally resilient San Juan! 🧠✨

Another Project Huna-Una milestone achieved! 🧡✨

✅ Mobile Mental Health Awareness Campaign

On the 3rd day of December this year, Atipán-PH was able to hit its target of delivering a mobile mental health awareness campaign to more than 100 community members of San Juan, Molo! This is only possible because of their diligent and heartwarming support, and we are really thankful for the warm accommodation from all of the community members involved during this event.

The goal of Project Huna-Una is to forward a mentally healthier San Juan, Molo. The purpose of this mobile mental health awareness campaign is to raise awareness and break the stigma surrounding mental health. This campaign gave us insights for the improvement of the necessary mental health support that we aim to provide for every child.

Through collaboration, we are getting closer to our goal! Para sa kabataan, padayon lang kita!

KADALAG-AN SANG KABATAAN! 🫶

Atipan-PH is proud to share that Project Huna-Una has earned a spot among the Top 5 projects for the YouthLed PH Policy Dialogue. This prestigious recognition serves as a testament to our dedication to fostering meaningful and progressive spaces for youth development in Western Visayas.

At the core of Atipan-PH's Project Huna-Una's policy advocacy lies the promotion of mental health and well-being among the children of Barangay San Juan, Molo, who were deeply affected by the fire incident on January 28, 2023. We are fully committed to providing the necessary support to this community by offering Mental Health and Psychosocial Support training to its members, with a specific focus on enhancing their resilience and overall well-being. As part of our proposal, we aim to establish a Mental Health Corner in the barangay that caters to the mental health needs of the children. This project will be implemented in the next five months.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of this significant milestone, especially the residents of Barangay San Juan, Molo, who joined us during the Deliberative Democracy process. Your unwavering support and belief in the power of community-driven initiatives have played a crucial role in our success. Together, let us join hand-in-hand to explore the endless possibilities that lie ahead for our children.
