𝙄𝘾𝙔𝙈𝙄 | JM wins Sustainable Student Project Presentation championship

Smooky Roy D. Lobo of the Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration (BSCA) program and Russ Nhel D. Aurelas of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) program, together with Guidance Associate Mr. Raymund Benedick S. Brillantes, emerged as champion in the Sustainable Student Project Presentation during the 2nd Outstanding Student Leaders and 6th Student Affairs and Services (SAS) National Conventions 2026.

Anchored on the theme “Igniting Change through FLARE: Fostering Leadership, Awareness, Responsibility and Engagement,” the convention was held at Venus Park View Hotel in Baguio City from October 1 to 3.

During the competition, Lobo and Aurelas were randomly paired with other delegates and competed against 24 other teams nationwide.

Aurelas presented the team’s proposal, titled "Beyond the Blueprint: Establishing Safe Spaces for STD-Free Community,” while Lobo contributed as a member of the core project development team.

“The award reflected our team’s collective effort, coordination, and unity. More importantly, the convention provided me with valuable lessons that deepened my understanding of leadership,” Lobo reflected.

A proud moment for John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Molo) as Russ Nhel D. Aurelas (BSMarE) and Smooky Roy D. Lobo (BSCA), together with their regional teammates, emerged as Champions in the Sustainable Student Project Presentation during the 2nd Outstanding Student Leaders and 6th Student Affairs and Services (SAS) National Conventions 2026 held at Venus Park View Hotel, Baguio City, from October 1–3, 2026.

Randomly paired with student delegates from other Western Visayas universities, Aurelas and Lobo became part of a five-member regional team that competed against 25 teams from across the country.

Their winning project, “Beyond the Blueprint: Establishing Safe Spaces for STD-Free Community,” presented a meaningful initiative focused on creating safer and more supportive communities. Aurelas presented the project’s vision, objectives, and community impact, while Lobo played a vital role in its development.

This achievement reflects the leadership, creativity, teamwork, and commitment of JBLFMU (Molo) students in creating meaningful solutions and inspiring positive social change.

The ceremony formally recognized and inducted the organization's new set of officers, symbolizing their commitment to uphold the values, mission, and vision of PSCAS while serving the Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration community with integrity, excellence, and dedication.

Aiming to promote safety and heightened awareness about the dangers of bomb threats and active shooting incidents, students of the Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration, Angel Nebrianne Mae S. Bano and John Nemar B. Cordero, participated in the Active Shooting and Bomb Threat Preparedness and Response Seminar held at John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo) on September 18, 2026.

Led by the Philippine National Police - Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Group (PNP-EOD/K9), the seminar featured a discussion on Project ABKD (Awareness of Bombs that Kill Lives and Destroy Properties), focusing on increasing awareness among students of the dangers of bomb threats and active shooting incidents, as well as equipping them with essential safety measures and response.

The seminar emphasized the importance of prior preparedness, awareness, and proper response during these unforeseen emergencies.
