Three batches of Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management students from Iloilo City Community College (ICCC) recently completed the AI-Smart Hospitality Students: Property Management Systems and Responsible AI Workshop held from September 1 to 3, 2026, at the Center of Teaching Excellence, West Visayas State University.
Presented by Altiora Digital Services, an Ilonggo initiative under WVSU BINHI TBI, the three-day workshop aimed to connect classroom learning with real-world hospitality technology and responsible artificial intelligence.
Through guided activities and supervised simulations, the students practiced essential hotel operations using a Property Management System, including reservations, front office procedures, check-in and check-out, cashiering, housekeeping coordination, inventory, and reporting.
The workshop also introduced students to the responsible use of artificial intelligence. They learned how to verify AI-generated information, protect personal data, recognize bias and misinformation, disclose AI assistance, preserve academic integrity, and maintain human judgment in decision-making.
The three-batch format encouraged teamwork, participation, and hands-on learning. Students were given opportunities to respond to hospitality scenarios and apply technology in ways that support service quality, accuracy, and accountability.
The activity reflects the shared commitment of ICCC and Altiora Digital Services to develop future-ready hospitality professionals who are technologically capable, ethically grounded, and prepared for the changing demands of the tourism industry.
With the theme โLearn. Practice. Lead.โ, the workshop served as an important step in preparing ICCC students for meaningful careers in a technology-driven hospitality sector.
