The Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) will hold a press conference in observance of the 4th Occupational Medicine (OM) Week. The event will have the theme "Safeguarding Health and Advancing Decent Work in Occupational Medicine" and will include the regional launch of the 14th Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan (GKK) in the Visayas Region.
The OM Week aims to foster public cooperation and support for strengthening OSH practices in the country, while enhancing nationwide awareness and appreciation of OM's importance in raising awareness of strategies to prevent and control occupational injuries and diseases, thereby reducing work-related disability and death.
Meanwhile, the GKK is an award given by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to recognize private establishments. government agencies, individuals. microenterprises, and the informal sector for their outstanding achievements in addressing the safety and health needs of workers, workplaces, and their communities.
