LET THE WHOLE SENATE STAND WITH MINDANAO

The Senate New Majority stands with the families and communities in Mindanao who are now facing the painful work of rescue, relief, rebuilding and recovery after the powerful earthquake.

As a personal contribution to the relief effort, members of the Senate New Majority are prepared to donate one month of our salary to help support affected communities.

While this is a small contribution, we hope our colleagues in the Minority will join us in this effort. After all, we are senators of all Filipino people.

This is a moment when the Senate, whatever its internal divisions, can still speak through one act of shared compassion.

Sen. Risa Hontiveros and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan on Tuesday shared photos with members of the Minority bloc after a heated debate on Sen. Rodante Marcoleta's motion to institutionalize remote participation in Senate sessions.

The motion, which seeks to allow senators to attend and participate in plenary proceedings through teleconference, videoconference, or other electronic means, drew intense exchanges in the chamber, with some lawmakers raising concerns over its timing and possible implications amid reports of legal developments involving certain senators.

Following the session, Hontiveros posted a photo with Minority colleagues, captioning it: "United Minority ✊🏼"

Pangilinan also shared a group photo, writing: "Solid Bloc. 🇵🇭"

Sa banta na pagsampa ng Ethics Case laban sa akin……

Sa haba na panahon ko dito sa Senado at sa dami ng sigawan o pagtataas ng boses na nangyari na rito, ngayon lang siguro magkaka-ethics case na ganito.

Yung pagtataas ng boses sa mainit na debate ay hindi man kagustuhan ay hindi naiiwasan at malimit na nangyayari sa plenaryo. Kung laban sa ethics yun, marami na sanang mga senador ang sinampahan at pinarusahan. Zero cases.

Huwag maging balat sibuyas. Walang legal na basehan at walang kwenta ang ethics case complaint na yan. Hintayin na lang natin yung reklamo nya.

Kung sakali man, sasagutin ko ng kontra-reklamo sa Ethics Committee sa kanyang paglabag sa parliamentary rules at pagiging out of order at sa kawalan ng proper decorum, ang pagbabanta sa akin, pananakot at paninindak sa akin sa plenary session kanina habang naka recess. Hindi uubra ang pambubully at pa siga siga sa akin. Mas may basehang kasuhan yang pasiga-siga, pambabastos at at ang kawalan ng proper decorum sa kapwa senador sa Senado. Lahat on record.

Ayaw ko ng away. Hindi ako palaaway pero hindi ko aatrasan ang sinuman kung ang gusto ay ganitong walang kwentang kasuhan.
