Ranao Women & Children resource Center, Inc. (RWCRC, Inc.) is a non-stock, non-profit private institution based in Iligan City established in April 1991 with the aim to empower women and children in the remote areas of Iligan City and Lanao del Norte through education and facilitation of their needs in order to conduct massive campaigns on issues that affect the lives of women and children in the
area. The organization was subsidized by Gabriela Manila and Gabriela Davao, and soon thereafter, engaged partnerships with the Salinlahi Foundation in 1994. However, due to problems encountered by the leaders and officers of the network, RWCRC became an independent organization, and worked primarily on issues and concerns that govern the local area. CORE BELIEFS/PREAMBLE:
“Alarmed with the extent of poverty in the country, the growing threat to peace and order in the environment, the lack of education and basic rights for all, the ongoing displacement and deterioration in the quality of life conditions of deprived women, children, and men as well, and the increasing number of cases of violence against women and children, we, the Board and Staff of RWCRC, Inc., herewith declare our solemn commitment towards countering these injustices as the cornerstones of our work. Henceforth, RWCRC, Inc. shall work for the ideals of gender equality, human rights and dignity, peace, and value for the integrity of all life and creation.”
