On August 22, 2026, in line with Rotary's Membership Month, the Rotaract Club of Iligan hosted its Basic Orientation Seminar (BOS) at the Digital Creatives Hub to welcome, inform, and inspire prospective members.

Following formal opening protocols led by President Ann Wellie Daguman, the session prioritized fellowship and connection. Active members and prospects shared what drew them to Rotaract, with current members reflecting on how stepping out of their comfort zones helped them build professional skills and lifelong friendships.

As one of the highlights of the BOS, District Rotaract Area Representative (DRAR) Michelle Ann Miñao introduced the three aspiring members to the culture and values of the Rotary family and the Rotaract Club of Iligan. She discussed what it means to be part of Rotaract, emphasizing the Four-Way Test, Service Above Self, and Fellowship Through Service as guiding principles for personal growth and community service.

She also gave an overview of Rotary’s Areas of Focus and Avenues of Service, highlighting how fellowship, leadership, and service come together to create meaningful impact. Through the session, the aspiring members gained a deeper understanding of what it truly means to be a Rotaractor and a member of the Rotaract Club of Iligan.

Members of the Rotaract Club of Iligan recently attended the Vibrant Learning Seminar held at Go Hotel, Iligan City, joining fellow Rotarians and Rotaractors from across District 3870. Representing the club at this significant gathering of community leaders were Past President Philip Sabayle, District Rotaract Area Representative Michelle Miñao, and Director of Public Image Miguel Sumaylo.

The seminar explored Rotary's four core strategic priorities: increasing our impact, expanding our reach, enhancing participant engagement, and increasing our ability to adapt. Through engaging plenary talks and breakout sessions, attendees explored how to evolve beyond traditional routines to design service projects that deliver sustainable, transformative change for the communities we serve.

A major highlight of the seminar was the deep focus on public image and the power of authentic storytelling. Participants learned that true public image goes far beyond simple publicity or taking photos. It is about genuinely honoring the dignity of our beneficiaries, highlighting human-centric stories, and showcasing authentic community transformation to build lasting trust.

The delegates gained valuable insights into navigating the digital age, using social media to highlight "People of Action," and understanding new organizational guidelines for artificial intelligence.
