Following the recent fire at the Poblacion Wet Market, 16 families needed urgent support—and true bayanihan made it happen.

On behalf of Aksyon Poblacion, we extend our deepest gratitude to the College of Health Sciences - Student Council, especially to Board Member Maria Ericka Codesar (Chairperson of Community Extension Affairs), for partnering with us in organizing this donation drive for the affected families on September 1, 2026.

𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬

Following the recent fire at the Wet Market in Poblacion, Iligan City, 16 families needed our support—and our community answered.

​On September 1, 2026, the 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 - 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 (headed by Board Member Maria Ericka Codesar, Chairperson of Community Extension Affairs) and 𝐀𝐤𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧 headed by Pierce Adam Patalinghug organized a donation drive to deliver much-needed relief to those affected.

Our team made another round of donations to hand out warm food, water, and 5 kg of rice to the families resting at the evacuation site.

Daghang kaayong salamat to our volunteers who stayed up late to help pack and distribute everything, and most especially to everyone who sent donations. Without you, this wouldn't have been made possible.

Our relief efforts continue! For DAY 2 of our on-ground operations, Aksyon Poblacion joined forces with the MSU-IIT CEBA Executive Council and CEBA Societies to deliver the next round of donations and support to the families and vendors affected by the Iligan City Wet Market fire. Together, we distributed essential relief goods directly to the affected families.

A massive thank you to MSU-IIT CEBA Executive Council, Societies, as well as to our student leaders, volunteers, and donors who stepped up to make this second wave of distribution possible.

Last June 6, 2026, Aksyon Poblacion participated in the MSU-IIT College of Science and Mathematics Project REPROH 3.0: Reproductive Health Education Drive among Teenagers and Young Adults in Iligan City, conducted at Barangay Poblacion.

The activity aimed to promote reproductive health awareness and empower teenagers and young adults through education, encouraging informed decisions and responsible health practices. Aksyon Poblacion remains committed to supporting initiatives that foster knowledge, community engagement, and the overall well-being of the youth.

Last May 19, 2025, Aksyon Poblacion had the honor of paying a courtesy visit to the Office of the Honorable Mayor Frederick W. Siao, reaffirming its commitment to cooperation and community development.

The visit reaffirmed Aksyon Poblacion's commitment to working hand in hand with the local government in advancing initiatives that benefit the people of Iligan City.
