What began as an invitation to pause became a meaningful gathering of reflection, faith, and renewed purpose.
On September 23, 2026, Muslimahs from different student organizations gathered at Al-Jalis As-Salih Islamic Center, Pala-o Extension, Iligan City for a day centered on spiritual growth and strengthening our connection with Allah.
With studies, work, leadership responsibilities, and other matters that needed their attention, the participants had many things they could have chosen to attend to. Yet, despite their busy schedules, they chose to make time for this gathering and be present.
One of the meaningful reminders shared by the Aleemah was the importance of not allowing our pursuit of worldly responsibilities to come between us and our relationship with Allah. Our studies, work, and other responsibilities may be part of our lives, but they should never become reasons to neglect our worship and Salah. The reminder encouraged everyone to keep Allah at the center, even while fulfilling our responsibilities in this dunya.
During the gathering, Nashima, Head of the Al-Jalis As-Salih Womenโs Department, reminded the participants:
โNandito kayo because Allah invited you to be here.โ
The reminder gave deeper meaning to the decision of every participant who chose to be present. Amid the many responsibilities competing for their time, they made space for their faith and for an opportunity to reconnect with Allah.
She then left the gathering with a question that encouraged everyone to look within:
โKung bibigyan ka ng pagkakataon na magbago will you take it?โ
These reminders made the gathering more than just a day of learning. It became an opportunity to reflect on where we are, what we prioritize, and how we can continue striving to become better Muslims.

May Allah accept the efforts of everyone who made this gathering possible, preserve the lessons we received in our hearts, and help us remain steadfast in our worship while fulfilling our responsibilities in this world.
Alhamdulillah for a gathering that reminded us: in everything we pursue, our connection with Allah should never be left behind.
