HANDURAW 2026 | BS Philosophy (Applied Ethics), Batch 2026

Handuraw is a Visayan word that speaks of remembering, looking back, and honoring the journey that brought us here. More than just a class frame, Handuraw is a celebration of the memories, challenges, friendships, laughter, lessons, and victories that shaped the BS Philosophy (Applied Ethics) Batch 2026. It reminds us of the years spent questioning deeply, thinking critically, growing together, and learning what it means to live with purpose, integrity, and compassion.

This year, the batch proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of its 59 Latin Honor graduates: 14 Summa Cum Laude, 25 Magna Cum Laude, and 20 Cum Laude. Behind these honors are sleepless nights, quiet sacrifices, long days of studying, and the determination to keep going even when the journey was difficult. These achievements are not only marks of academic excellence, but also proof of heart, discipline, and perseverance.

Leading the graduating class—and the entire MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology graduating cohort—as Class Valedictorian is Sarah Jane M. Navia. Her achievement is a proud moment not only for herself, but for her family, mentors, classmates, and the whole batch. Through excellence, humility, leadership, and dedication, she shows what can be achieved when passion is matched with hard work and a clear sense of purpose.

To every member of the BS Philosophy (Applied Ethics) Batch 2026, congratulations on reaching this meaningful milestone. With or without Latin honors, each of you carries a story of courage, growth, struggle, and hope. This achievement belongs to every student who showed up, kept learning, kept trying, and chose to move forward despite the challenges along the way.
As you step beyond the university, may you carry with you not only the knowledge you have gained, but also the values that shaped your journey: wisdom, justice, empathy, and service. May your philosophy become more than something you studied—it may become something you live, share, and use to make the world a little more thoughtful, humane, and just.
Today, we look back with gratitude, celebrate with pride, and move forward with hope.

Congratulations, HANDURAW 2026! 🎓✨

With a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 1.04821, Sarah Jane Mag-usara Navia, a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy Major in Applied Ethics student from the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), has been proclaimed valedictorian of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) Class of 2026.

Navia stands among MSU-IIT’s first-generation graduates, representing students whose parents did not complete a bachelor’s degree. A member of the Bantogen Honors Society, she pursued a discipline rooted in reason, ethical reflection, and critical inquiry, culminating in the university’s highest academic honor.

Her recognition also marks the first time since the second-semester commencement exercises of 2022 that the valedictorian has come from outside the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), highlighting the breadth of academic excellence across MSU-IIT.
