Alinguigan 2nd Integrated School successfully conducted a Career Guidance Seminar for Grades 9 and 10 students in partnership with the Ang Batang Marunong Project
BMP Founder and Chief Advocate Bryan Lucas Burigsay Malenab delivered a session titled โThe Career Compass of a Batang Marunong,โ focusing on the key influences that shape a young personโs career choice - family, school, community, values, and personal purpose.
Students were encouraged to understand their strengths, reflect on their motivations, and recognize that choosing a career is a gradual and meaningful journey.
Mr. Ricky Hidalgo and Ms. Kassandra Aggabao, representatives of YAKAPIN under the Ilagan Youth Center, and Career Development and Support Program of PESO Ilagan, emphasized the importance of mental health among young learners and how it directly impacts their readiness for future employment. They highlighted that DOLE- and PESO-aligned initiativesโsuch as career guidance, skills training, job matching, and access to labor market opportunitiesโare designed not only to prepare the youth for the world of work but also to ensure they are mentally resilient, confident, and capable of making informed career decisions, ultimately helping build a skilled and future-ready workforce in the City of Ilagan.
The seminar aimed to equip learners with greater self-awareness and confidence as they prepare for senior high school and future career pathways.
