To our beloved School Principal, Dr. Fortunata G. Germino, our Assistant Principal, Dr. Mary Grace P. Entusiasmo, to our esteemed Head Teachers, dedicated teachers and staff, and to my fellow learners of Igbaras National High School, a pleasant day to all. As I stand before you today to deliver my State of the Learner Government Address as your outgoing SSLG President for the School Year 2025โ2026, I canโt help but look back to the very first time I stood hereโdelivering my thank you speech as your newly elected president. I remember it vividly: how I stuttered, how scared and unprepared I was, how my hands were shaking, and how I didnโt even know what to say. In that moment, I was filled with doubt. But today, I stand here not without fear, but with courage built through experience, shaped by challenges, and strengthened by all of you.
This year has been a journey of service, growth, and purpose. From the very beginning, your Supreme Secondary Learner Government worked to ensure that every learner felt guided and supported. Through our Enrollment Information Desk, we assisted students and parents in making the enrollment process smooth and organized. We actively participated in Brigada Eskwela, embodying the spirit of bayanihan as we prepared our school for a new academic year. As classes officially opened, we led the Oplan Balik Eskwela and Orientation on School Rules and Regulations, ensuring that every learner not only understood the policies of the school but also the values behind them. We welcomed our new Grade 7 learners through the INHS Freshies Campus Tour, helping them adjust, explore, and feel that they belong in this institution.
We strengthened student democracy by conducting fair and participatory electionsโfrom the Election of SSLG Grade 7 Representatives, and Election of Clubs and Organizations, to the SSLG Elections for School Year 2026โ2027. Through the Grand Rally and Mass Induction, we reminded every student leader that leadership is not about the title they hold, but the responsibility they carry, and that true leadership is measured by service and integrity.
Beyond governance, we pursued projects that created real impact. Through Project PUNO: Puno sang Paglaum, we planted not just trees, but hope for future generations. We conducted meaningful environmental initiatives, including participating in tree planting activities where 1,000 Narra seedlings were successfully planted, along with clean-up drives and programs such as the INHS 4Ps or Pulot Papel Plastic Programs, which promoted cleanliness, discipline, and environmental responsibility among learners.
We also focused on building a strong and compassionate school community. We honored our teachers through the Teacherโs Month Celebration and Teacherโs Day Celebration, along with heartfelt initiatives such as birthday recognitions and tribute activities that celebrated their dedication and sacrifices.
We created spaces for connection and expression through activities like the Valentineโs Day NGL messages, allowing students to share their thoughts, appreciation, and feelings in a safe and engaging way. These initiatives reminded us that leadership is not only about organizing programs, but about strengthening relationships and creating a positive environment for everyone.
Your SSLG also represented Igbaras National High School beyond the campus. We actively participated in the Leadership Coaching Summit 2026, the Supreme Parliamentary Training and Competition where we proudly advanced to the Grand Finals, and the Municipal State of the Childrenโs Address, where we stood as voices of the youth. We also supported important advocacies such as the Child Protection Policy Re-Orientation and Mental Health Awareness programs, ensuring that our leadership reflects not only action but also compassion and responsibility.
In terms of systems and service, we implemented initiatives such as the Lost and Found Corner to promote honesty and responsibility among students, and we proposed the installation of an SSLG office glass sliding window to improve accessibility and service. These may seem like small steps, but they are meaningful improvements that contribute to a more organized and student-friendly school environment.
But beyond all these accomplishments, this journey has been deeply personal. I know that I have had many shortcomings as your president. There were times I fell short, times I doubted myself, and times I felt overwhelmed. But through this organization, through our adviser, and through every single one of you, I continued to grow. From a timid and uncertain student, I became someone who learned how to stand, to lead, and to serve with courage.
To my fellow SSLG officers, thank you for walking this journey with me. This success is not mine aloneโit is ours. Thank you for your sacrifices, your dedication, and your unwavering commitment to serve. To my fellow outgoing officers, and even to those who may not have won but still chose to support and serve, you are all part of this journey, and your contributions will never be forgotten.
To the incoming SSLG officers of School Year 2026โ2027, the leadership you are about to carry is not easy, but it is meaningful. Lead with heart, serve with integrity, and always remember that leadership is not about power, but about purpose.
And to Igbaras National High School, my second homeโthank you for being more than just a place of learning. Thank you for shaping me, for challenging me, and for giving me the opportunity to grow into the person and leader that I am today. This institution has not only educated me, but has molded my character, strengthened my voice, and inspired me to serve with purpose. I will carry everything I have learned here beyond these walls, and I will always be proud to call myself an Igbarasnon.
As I end my term, I leave with gratitude and hopeโhope that the programs we started will continue, hope that the SSLG will remain a strong voice for the learners, and hope that every student will realize that you do not need a position to lead, you only need the courage to care.
Maraming salamat, Igbaras National High School. This has been your SSLG President for the Academic Year 2025-2026, Mary Dhorothea E. Ezpeleta, now signing offโwith gratitude, growth, and purpose.
