✨ BAYANIHAN SA TAHANAN NG KABATAAN
📍 Commission on Youth Apostolate General Assembly
🗓️ August 1, 2026
What a grace-filled day as young people from different parishes and youth settings across the Diocese gathered for the Commission on Youth Apostolate General Assembly: Bayanihan sa Tahanan ng Kabataan.
The day began with a true expression of bayanihan, as our young people generously offered their time, talent, and treasure to clean and care for the Tahanan ng Kabataan—the home that continues to welcome, form, and accompany the youth of our Diocese. Through simple acts of service, we were reminded that every mission begins with willing hearts ready to serve.
The afternoon formation was enriched by an inspiring session on "Leading Without a Title" facilitated by our former Diocesan Youth Leader, Ms. Jamila Bandoy. She reminded everyone that authentic leadership is never defined by a position or recognition, but by one's willingness to serve, inspire, and accompany others with humility. Leadership begins with example, grows through faithful service, and flourishes when we empower others to discover their own gifts.
The afternoon also featured the PCNE12 Re-Echo, where delegates to the Philippine Conference on New Evangelization (July 24–26, 2026) faithfully shared the blessings they received. True to their commitment to echo the experience, they invited fellow young people to embrace the call to become Missionaries of Friendship, journeying together with the Church with Jesus, to Jesus.
The re-echo was spearheaded by Mr. John Kit B. Estuya and Mr. Alvi James G. Rabacca of the Commission on Youth Apostolate, together with Ms. Abigail Krista Alinea of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Ms. Xyrish Alexandria Nito and Ms. Ma. Luisa Buenaventura of Saint Columban Parish and Diocesan Shrine, and Mr. Alec Ryzan Eledia and Mr. Wendel Dulay of Saint Vincent De Paul Parish. Through their witness and sharing, they encouraged fellow youth to build genuine friendships rooted in Christ, become pilgrims of hope, and boldly bring the Gospel into their families, schools, workplaces, and communities.
The General Assembly concluded with the Holy Eucharist, the Sacrament of Christ's friendship, presided over by our Youth Director, Rev. Fr. Jaime "Jimboy" Escurzon. Nourished by the Body and Blood of Christ, we were sent forth renewed in our mission to become joyful disciples and missionary friends to all.
As one diocesan family, may we continue to build a Church where every young person feels welcomed, accompanied, formed, and sent.
Together, let us continue to journey with Jesus, to Jesus. 🤝❤️
