A Problem Worth Listening To: PAX SILICA โ๐ป
What is Pax Silica? Pax is the Latin word for "peace," while Silica refers to silicon โ a key material used in semiconductors, computer chips, and Artificial Intelligence (Al). The initiative aims to strengthen Al and semiconductor supply chains through partnerships with resource โ rich countries,
including the Philippines.
While it is presented as an opportunity for investment, job creation, and technological advancement, it has also raised concerns about it's potential impact on our natural resources, agricultural lands, local communities, and national sovereignty. Public discussions have also highlighted a proposed 1,619 hectare site for an Al hub โ a vast area that, for many, represents far more than land. It is farmland, biodiversity, livelihoods, and the future of countless Filipino communities.

Nature has no voice โ but we do. We stand for every forest, every river, every farmer, and every community whose future depends on a healthy environment. Real progress is measured not only by what we build, but by what we choose to protect.
