2026 ARBOR DAY: MANGROVE PLANTING & COASTAL CLEAN-UP

The event commenced as early as 5:00 AM with an inspiring opening program, followed by lively Zumba and an exciting raffle draw — filling the morning with energy and e

HNVS YES-O CLUB, together with other organizations, cooperatives, neighboring barangays, private business establishments, and national government agencies, led the palm tree planting at Atabay New Road. Meanwhile, Hilongos East District, North District, South District, HIPSSEA, HNVS, and ECLIPSE Inc. carried out the mangrove planting along the coastal shores at Matapay, Hilongos, Leyte.

Every palm tree planted and every mangrove established marks a shared commitment to nature’s care. This collective effort shows what different groups can accomplish when working hand in hand for the environment. 🌏🌱

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | Last Tuesday, September 8, YES‑O CLUB and the Alliance of Scientific People – JHS Science Club united for our collaborative seminar‑workshop — such a great day of learning and working together! 🤝🌍

We were honored to have Mr. Robinson Retulla from LGU Hilongos as our resource speaker. He walked us through our theme, shared meaningful insights on environmental stewardship, and explained clearly how nurturing plants and protecting our surroundings go hand‑in‑hand. We also learned about the vital importance of fisheries and sustainable care for our aquatic resources 🐟, then put our knowledge into practice with a hands‑on soil analysis activity — examining soil samples and understanding firsthand why healthy soil is the very foundation of healthy plants and a healthy environment. 🔬🌱

Truly a meaningful experience — grateful for this partnership, the guidance from LGU Hilongos, and the reminder that protecting nature starts with us! ??✨

The HNVS students participated in a campus ground cleaning activity from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Students worked together to clean and maintain different areas of the school grounds. The activity encouraged teamwork, discipline, and responsibility among the students. Through their efforts, they helped create a cleaner and more comfortable environment for everyone. This activity shows that even simple acts of cooperation can make a big difference in keeping our campus clean.

The Grade 7 Vice Mayors were guided and facilitated by YES‑O Club Officer Johnah Lopez as they worked together to thoroughly clean and organize the YES‑O office today. This simple effort shows our commitment to keep our work space clean, neat, and ready for use.

Last July 14, 2026, YES-O officers instructed the vendors at the casa and canteen about the strict no-plastic policy. They also had trash cans removed and introduced the rule “Basura mo, E bulsa mo”. Then last July 22, 2026, they posted official Zero Plastic signage inside the campus to further promote this initiative. Let’s practice discipline and help keep our campus clean and eco-friendly! 🌱💚

♻️Segregate Today, Sustain Tomorrow

As part of its continuous commitment to promoting environmental responsibility, the HNVS YES-O Club successfully installed waste segregation awareness tarpaulins in the Senior High School Area of Hilongos National Vocational School on July 1, 2026.
This initiative aims to strengthen students' awareness of proper waste segregation, encourage responsible waste disposal practices, and foster a culture of environmental stewardship throughout the school community. By placing these informative tarpaulins in strategic locations, the organization hopes to inspire every learner, teacher, and staff member to take an active role in maintaining a clean, healthy, and sustainable campus.
Together, let us continue making small actions that create a lasting impact for our school and the environment.🌎
