In the Philippines, bullying among children remains a serious concern in many schools and communities.

Based on education and child protection reports, many Filipino students experience bullying in different forms such as verbal, physical, social, and online harm. Some recent findings even show that around 2 out of 3 children have experienced bullying at least once, highlighting how widespread this issue has become.

Behind every number is a real child. A child who may feel afraid, alone, or unsafe in a place where they are supposed to learn, grow, and feel protected.

As parents, teachers, and community members, we all have a responsibility to protect children. Sometimes it starts with listening, noticing, and choosing to care.

Every child deserves a safe childhood where they feel valued, respected, and protected.

Sometimes leadership begins with a simple heart to serve. ๐Ÿงก

In Brgy. Cabadiangan, Sipalay City, Izza never planned to be a leader but found herself called to serve. Now, she leads the Provincial Youth Coalition and the Cabadiangan Youth Mountain Movers Organization (CYMMO), standing firm in her belief that children deserve to be heard. For Izza, children are not just beneficiaries but voices, partners, and changemakers. Yet, despite ongoing efforts, many are still left behind.

โ€œ...while many programs exist, many children and communities are still unreached. This inspires us to keep leading, serving, and advocating.โ€

Quidan Kaisahan is deeply thankful for volunteers and youth leaders like Izza, whose passion lights the way for others. Their dedication reminds us that change starts with one heart willing to serve, one voice willing to speak, and one action willing to make a difference. And when we work together, we can reach the unreached and serve the underserved.

Ikaw, whatโ€™s your hugot to keep serving? ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Children deserve protection, love, and opportunity. The way we treat them defines who we are as a society.

This weekend, let us be reminded that children thrive when they feel seen, heard, and loved. Spend time with them, guide them, and nurture their dreams.

Together, we can raise a generation that is safe, confident, and hopeful. โค๏ธ

Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Week (CSAAW)

In the Philippines, about 1 in 3 children experience some form of sexual abuse before turning 18. These arenโ€™t just numbersโ€”they are our children, our neighbors, our students, our little ones who need someone to see, listen, and protect them.

Child sexual abuse often happens in silence, behind closed doors, or online. Many children feel scared to speak up because they fear being blamed or not believed.

This 2nd week of February, we are reminded that every child deserves to grow up safe, protected, and loved.
At Quidan Kaisahan Negros Occidental, Inc., we stand with every child who needs a voice, a safe space, and people who will listen and believe them.

Child sexual abuse is real but prevention is possible when we choose to be more aware, more caring, and more responsible as a community.

๐Ÿ“Œ Hereโ€™s how we can protect them:
โ€ข Listen and believe children when they speak about discomfort or fear
โ€ข Respect their personal space and rightsโ€”teach boundaries and consent
โ€ข Be observantโ€”changes in behavior, mood, or reactions may be signals
โ€ข Educate families and communities to create safe spaces, online and offline

๐Ÿ“ข Letโ€™s break the silence.
Silence protects abusersโ€”not children. Speaking up, staying alert, and acting together can save lives and give hope.

๐Ÿงก Every child deserves to grow up safe, loved, and free from fear.
We all have the power to make that happen.

Every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and loved. ๐ŸงกWe dream of a world where children can truly thrive โ€” where th...

Every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and loved. ๐Ÿงก

We dream of a world where children can truly thrive โ€” where their voices matter, their dreams are encouraged, and they grow in a caring, resilient environment. ๐ŸŒฑโœจ

Together, we can make this world a reality, one child at a time.

Strengthen | Quidan Kaisahan Staff Development Training

With a strong commitment to strengthening the organization, especially its backbone, the staff, Quidan Kaisahan conducted a Staff Development Training focused on deepening our shared commitment to child protection. From top management to administrative assistants, everyone came together to learn, reflect, and grow.

The training opened with Ikigai, a session that helped staff reconnect with their core values, motivations, and passion in pursuing Quidanโ€™s mission. This was followed by a Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) session facilitated by Janelle from our partner organization, Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute (NYLI), highlighting the importance of inclusive, equitable, and accessible approaches in achieving our vision and mission.

Other enriching sessions included: Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) by Consuelo Foundation, which strengthened staff understanding of trauma not only in children and communities but also among co-workers fostering empathy, trust, and a psychologically safe work culture. Kapwa-based Non-Violent Communication (NVC), which reinforced Trauma-Informed Care by equipping staff with practical tools for compassionate communication, empathetic listening, and respectful conflict engagement anchored in the Filipino value of shared humanity. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL), which was appreciated not merely as paperwork, but as a vital process for listening to communities, learning from experiences, strengthening accountability, and improving the quality and impact of our programs.

By strengthening how we reflect, communicate, and learn together, we strengthen our organization and our commitment to protecting and upholding the rights and well-being of children.
