In every fall, always remember to stand up again and be brave. Failing once does not mean you will fail forever. Life may test us many times, but every challenge is a chance to grow stronger and wiser.
My journey as the President of Barkada Kontra Droga was never easy. There were moments when life became tough — juggling responsibilities, working under pressure, feeling exhausted, and even crying countless times. But those hardships never defined my purpose in this organization. My goal remained clear: to serve the kabataan and our bayan with all my heart.
I spent almost my entire high school journey serving BKD. I was first appointed as Auditor during Grade 8, and by Grade 9, I ran for President and was blessed to be elected until I graduated. Through those years, BKD became more than just an organization to me — it became my second home, filled with unforgettable memories, lessons, sacrifices, and achievements.
From the tiring walks just to reach our destinations for feeding programs and tree planting activities, to proudly representing Region VI – Western Visayas, Antique in National Conferences, every small and big achievement truly mattered. BKD taught me leadership, courage, discipline, and service.
But as every journey has its ending, saying goodbye to the home I’ve been with for five years is painful and difficult.
First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Mr. Roland A. Elio, my BKD Adviser. Thank you for opening a window for me whenever doors seemed closed. Thank you for your patience, trust, guidance, and the love you showed me throughout my journey. Every lesson I learned will always stay in my heart. Without you, I wouldn’t be the person and leader I am today. Without BKD, a part of me would always feel empty.
To Miss Bico and Mrs. Villaluz, my BKD Co-Advisers, thank you so much for your constant support, guidance, and encouragement. Carrying responsibilities became easier because of your help and understanding.
To Mrs. Janet G. Aniñon, thank you for your unwavering support in every program we conducted, whether inside or outside the school. Thank you for your trust, patience, and belief in my capabilities.
To all my officers from School Year 2021–2022, 2022–2023, 2023–2024, 2024–2025, and 2025–2026, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. I could never have accomplished everything without your support and teamwork. During moments when I felt lost and unsure, you were always there beside me. Special thanks to Manang Sha & Nessa, Niean, Lapuz, William, Vince, and Manang Gretchen for being part of this unforgettable journey.
To the PNP-Hamtic officers, thank you sir and ma’am for your willingness to support and help us in every program and activity we conducted for the community and the youth.
Above all, thank You, God, for blessing Barkada Kontra Droga and allowing us to serve the youth and community. Thank You for every opportunity, achievement, blessing, and support that guided us throughout this journey.
As I close this chapter of my life, I will always carry the memories, lessons, friendships, and experiences BKD gave me. This may be goodbye, but the mission to inspire and serve the youth will always remain in my heart.💜
Rayn Andee Diño, AY. 21-26, President.
