🌸 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month a time to empower, educate, and encourage early action. Here's how we can protect ourselves and our loved ones. 🌸
Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among Filipinas, affecting over 27,000 women annually. But with early detection and healthy habits, we can save lives and uplift communities.
Monicans, Here are steps you need to know to Prevent Breast Cancer😉
•Stay active: 30 minutes of walking or dancing, 5x a week.
•Eat smart: Load up on gulay, prutas, and whole grains.
•Keep a healthy weight: Especially after menopause.
•Avoid smoking: To***co increases cancer risk.
•Limit alcohol: Less alcohol = lower risk.
•Breastfeed if possible: It offers protective benefits.
🔍How to Check for Breast Cancer Early
•Know your family history: May affect your risk level.
•Do monthly breast self-exams: Check for lumps, swelling, or changes in shape or skin. Best done a few days after your period ends.
•Get regular mammograms: Women aged 40 and above should get screened yearly.
•Be familiar with your breasts: Notice any new pain, discharge, or skin changes.
💖 Why Early Detection Matters
- Breast cancer found early is highly treatable.
- Mammograms can detect cancer before symptoms appear.
- Self-checks and doctor visits are lifelines, not luxuries.
Each pink ribbon is a promise to protect, a hug for those fighting, and a reminder to act. Whether you’re a student, teacher, nanay, or tita your health matters.
