𝐒𝐒𝐂 𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍’𝟐𝟔 | Local Commission on Elections Conducts Screening of Student Council Candidates at SLSU-Gumaca

The screening of candidates for the Supreme Student Council of Southern Luzon State University – Gumaca for the 2026–2027 academic year began on March 3 and continued on March 4 at the Villa Nava Site. The activity, organized by the Local Commission on Elections (COMELEC) of the Gumaca campus, is part of the preparations for the upcoming student council elections.

The evaluation process aims to ensure that only qualified and prepared individuals are considered for leadership positions, assessing each candidate’s ability, readiness, and vision for student governance. Candidates presented their platforms, advocacies, and specific plans to support and improve student welfare. An open forum followed, allowing student organization leaders to ask questions and evaluate the candidates’ problem-solving skills and responsiveness to student needs.

The campaign period is scheduled for March 5, 2026, at the Villa Nava Site, with candidates canvassing from classroom to classroom between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., followed by a miting de avance from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Election day will be held on March 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The commission emphasized that the election will be conducted in a fair, transparent, and impartial manner, free from external influence, ensuring that the student body selects its next leaders with integrity and confidence.
