𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐇 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 ⛪️

SYCO joined the Parish Youth Day of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Guiuan yesterday, September 13, 2026.

One of the highlights was the Basic Orientation on Youth Ministry, featuring meaningful discussions on 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡, and 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡, reminding us of our role and calling as young people in the Church.

The day continued with the Parish Youth Night Presentation, where our SYCO members 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐨 and 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐨 shared their talents through a song presentation.

Indeed, it was a day of discovering our purpose, while celebrating the gifts and talents of the youth. May we continue to answer God’s call and live as young people who are chosen as witnesses and bearers of hope. 🙏💙

𝐒𝐊, 𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐧𝐚?

A question left unanswered for far too long.

Kun may pondo, dapat may programa. Kun may programa, dapat may resulta. But after all this time, it mga kabataan hit Surok are still asking: 𝐬𝐚𝐧-𝐨 𝐩𝐚 𝐤𝐚𝐦𝐢 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐤𝐚-𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐲𝐨?

As Surokanons, we deserve more. We deserve accountability. We deserve responsibility. We deserve programs and projects that truly serve the young people who entrusted their votes and their hopes to you.

YOU were elected by the Surokanons. And now, those same young people, those who voted for you and those who did not, together with your council, are asking for an answer.

As the next SK election approaches, with the possibility of either a transition or an extension of the current term, one question remains:

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐬 𝐛𝐚 𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐮𝐡𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐤𝐚𝐦𝐢?

And if the term is extended, will the youth have to wait another year, or even longer, before we finally see the programs and services we have been waiting for?

This is not simply about election. It is about the time, resources, and trust entrusted to your leadership.

SK Chairperson, dire kami nag-aaro him damo or dako. We are asking for what the youth deserve.

Another highlight of IYD 2026 was the 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! 🎪

SYCO brought 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐀, a perya-inspired booth that celebrated the simple joy of play. We’re proud to share that 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐀 was named Booth Champion 2026! 🏆💙

More than just games, 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐀 was a reminder that growing up doesn’t mean growing out of play. Youths deserve moments of joy, connection, and simply being themselves.

𝐒𝐘𝐂𝐎 𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐘𝐃 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 🩵🇵🇭

Last Friday, August 21, SYCO joined the celebration of International Youth Day 2026 at the Guiuan Gymnasium.

One of the highlights of the day was the advocacy rally, where SYCO members came together to raise awareness on issues that matter to the youth. With our placards in hand, we stood for children’s rights, mental health counseling in schools, LGBTQ+ rights, and the prevention of youth vices.

The rest of the day was just as fun, with different activities and contests where some of the organization members represented the organization and showed off their talents and skills.

It was a fun-filled day of bonding, laughter, learning, and standing together for the things we believe in. ✨

Empowering Young Minds 🌱

Last May 16, the Surok Youth Catechists, together with the Flores de Mayo children, participated in FunNgaram 2026 held at Surok Elementary School. Through interactive activities and discussions on important topics affecting young people today, participants were given opportunities to learn, grow, and make responsible choices.

Thank you to Peer Educators & 4D Youth Inc. for this meaningful initiative and for inspiring the youth to become active, informed, and responsible members of the community. 🤍🤝
